Fidoo Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Dear gentlemans, I am a quite new here. This is one of my last builds. Trumpeter is relatively good kit - If you do not look at the surface and the wider lines :_))) I used the various ALCLADs for finish. There are only photoetched parts add on. Thank you bye Fidoo ¨
Mr_Sworld Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 (edited) That's some nice work there! The weathering is superb! I would scale your photos to 800x600 pixels though. It means they will fit onto the page without haveing to scroll from side to side. Edited March 13, 2009 by Mr Sworld
Angels49 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 That is without a doubt my most favorite of the older Generation MiG's and you sir have only given rise to my yearn to build one, should I find a kit suitable I can acquire without going broke doing so. An excellent build worthy of a lot of recognition .
Muller Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 I have that kit in the stash, don't think it'll turn out as good as yours though! That is one fantastic build!
InFlames Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 A fine looking MiG! It's a shame Trumpeter screwed up with the roundels though... The red portions of the roundel must always face towards the fuselage - Trumpeter obviously printed the all facing towards left...

The red portions of the roundel must always face towards the fuselage - Trumpeter obviously printed the all facing towards left... You are right that this is a usual pattern - but this machine was different. Roundels were swiched on the machine itsefl. Trumpeters decal sheet for PM is not include the czech machine roundels so, I airbrushed everything. There is no one decal on the kit. 1040 photos:
andym Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Excellent model! I have the Trumpeter kit and have put off building it for the moment until I can work out how to correct the many innaccuracies, the main one being the overly thick and rounded wing leading edges (on the 1/32 on too!) and what appear to be too long airbrakes. I still need to get the scoops from Quickboost and quite possibly the Eduard set too. Andy
dahut Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 A very stunning look, there. Excellent foto work, too. I'd call this representative work.
Alan P Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 What an excellent model! Build quality, painting, weathering and overall "look" are great.
InFlames Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 Interesting fact, I never knew such markings existed... Thanks for pointing that out!
darson Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Outstanding work there Fidoo, what did you use for the panel line wash it looks spot on? Cheers
dahut Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I found this kit for $30 USD recently - got lucky. Im gonna have to practice the rest of the year before I try for something like yours. The more I look, the more I like it.
sonofjim Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Wow lovley build ! you know i personally like to see a few rivets divots and such i dont think it detracts from a model at all everything looks geat here it looks amazing ! well done
krustydave Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Thats really nice, gotta get a natural metal finished A/C done some day! Also its good to see one in something other than red stars! Look forward to seeing more!
