InFlames Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Borei class is the most advanced Russian SSBN class with Yuri the first operational boomer and Alexander Nevsky at sea trials. 6 more are ordered and will replace Typhoon and Delta IV SSBNs.
Shar2 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Very nice. Good to see another sub on the forums.
Panzer Vor!!! Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 very nice does that conning tower lean inwards????
InFlames Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 thanks guys hood: that's correct, it has a quite unique shape of it here's the profile photo of the real thing
Panzer Vor!!! Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 so has anyone idea as to why it leans backward??
robert26 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Very nice weathering-looks quite sinister-luv it
F-32 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Very nice, never seen that one before. How does it compare size wise with the Typhoon out of interest?
InFlames Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for the comments everyone! hood, frakly I don't have a clue - maybe it has something to do with hydrodynamics or acoustics... or maybe it's just because from time to time, Russians do it opposite way F-32: It's pretty much the same lengthwise but much narrower - Typhoon is much much fatter. However the improved Borei class (I think last 4 subs of this class) will have 4 additional launchers (20) which will make them the longest subs in history...
fids Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Can't believe the Typhoons are being replaced, Ifeel quite old :0) Great build, I have plans for subs, need a reak from planes.
Paul A H Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 She's a real beauty. I wonder if Hobbyboss will treat us to a Typhoon or Delta?
Danila Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I wonder if Hobbyboss will treat us to a Typhoon or Delta? IMHO the Delta is still more demand, at least Typhoon Dragon produces.

Danila Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 It must be very noisy when underwater with all that metalwork built on the the bow!LOL Graeme The equipment for measurement of physical fields, and other characteristics of the submarine, the so-called "fishing rod".
Graeme Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 The equipment for measurement of physical fields, and other characteristics of the submarine, the so-called "fishing rod". I assumed the metal work was a pier or something in the background that because of perspective seemd to be affixed to the sub... G
