  1. Good advice. Thanks everyone. Sorry for getting back late.. not had the chance to get on the forum much this week.
  2. Not the easiest to get hold of it seems.. and they've gone up in price from what I can find.
  3. I'm looking for a replacement for my Tamiya Works airbrush and compressor set. For those unaware of it, it's a cup fed, trigger airbrush, linked up to a small portable compressor. I've had it for over 10 years, and it's been abused to the point where it won't work any more. So, I need a replacement gun and compressor. Something not too expensive. Any suggestions? Cheers, Nick
  4. Finally getting the cellar man cave sorted.. its only taken 6 years.. Looking forward to building again.. I actually used to be quite good at it.. just took these out of the transport box I put these in back in 2015. Need to sort out a new airbrush and compressor, and a way of venting it out through the cellar extractor. Happy days. Seems that flood gave me the impetus I needed to sort it out. Nick

  6. Cheers guys. Solid advice.. finished sorting the kits out yesterday. The instructions were sprayed with anti fungal and dried out in the oven. Every box was trashed, so the kits will now all fit into something smaller than the metal trunk. Was hoping to keep some more of the decals that looked OK, but they were beyond repair. Shame, as some were really nice aftermarket ones.. 😞
  7. This weekend I discovered, to my delight, that our cellar had flooded. Only a little, which wasn't too bad.. Then I saw the tide marks of a higher flood, which must have happened 3 weeks ago during that huge storm. Our cellar never floods, so I didn't think of checking at the time. The water table was so high though, it must have come up through the soakaway and risen and risen. The upshot is, the metal trunk I keep my stash in (raised off the floor for the very purpose of keeping water out) flooded and I had no idea. I've been busy with a new job and hadn't been down there. So this weekend, as well as pumping out the cellar, I pumped out the stagnant water from 3 weeks ago from the kit box trunk. 50% of the kits are OK. 50% not. I've trashed a lot of decals, despite them being in airtight bags, and have washed the worst kits down. The boxes are mush, and I'm drying the instructions out in the kitchen. I'll re-store them in airtight and watertight plastic boxes this time. Any ideas on storage in these boxes? My main thought is freezer bags and small rubbish bags for each individual kit. Most won't have boxes now. I'm not in any rush to restock the decals, but will put a list up soon of what was lost in case anyone can help point me in their direction. Cheers, Nick
  8. Cheers Nigel. Tracked some down at our chemist. Not venturing out of the village today. Shopping local. For local people you know.
  9. So, found this and it looks pretty good from the reviews. Big enough to get most kits into it. https://www.amazon.co.uk/HaoSheng-NEW-Black-Model-Extraction/dp/B01E2OYRYO/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=spray+booth&link_code=qs&qid=1612615790&sourceid=Mozilla-search&sr=8-5&tag=firefox-uk-21 I'll rig up a little table over the other side of the cellar, and vent this into the extractor fan. Hopefully the small amount of enamels I'll spray wont blow me up. I'll have a fire extinguisher down there in case!
  10. Nigel, what would you recommend as an alternative to acetone? Can't find any in the shops, and the missus doesn't have any.
  11. No paint. Splatters, vomits, does nothing, and isn't consistent at all. Air's coming through fine.
  12. Cheers guys. I'll have another go at the Tamiya once I've got some time. It's a great little gun. Just my stupidity that's blocked it up. I've had it sitting in cleaner for such a while, the seals are probably all knackered. Will look around for some spares before making a decision. I also need to organise a spray booth too, as I'll be spraying in my cellar, and venting it up through an extractor fan to an external vent pipe, and that's going to cost around £80. I prefer the trigger guns Nigel. Something about the top button that feels weird to me.
  13. I've had this airbrush for around 10 years. It's been great, but over that timeframe, there were periods when I was bloody lazy and not cleaned it properly. I've tried to get it working again, but the flow just isn't there, and all logical steps to clean it up have failed. Should I just bin it and buy a replacement? I see there are plenty of Chinese knockoff trigger action brushes out there for around £50.
