Paul J
A few more b/w pics from the mid 1970's. All taken with my Zenit E SLR. Lakenheath gate guard. Mildenhall visitor. Not sure why when scanning the negs that the left side becomes over exposed. My original prints from these same negs don't suffer this way. Undergoing some work by the look of it. Yugoslav Yak-40 71503 at Northolt. About 1975/76. (in another post I show 71504 parked at about the same place on a different date. Blackbushe. Nice to see a few Fennecs. Plus some Spanish Air Force oldies..... Note the 'Luftwaffe'marked CASA /Ju-52 just beyond. Some of the 'Hanover Street ' B-25 Mitchell. A quick visit to Odiham gave us this.
RidgeRunner
Ah, yes, Paul, that was Farnborough week I think when the Moroccan Fennecs, Spaniards, etc were at Blackbushe. 1978? I recall some ex-Belgian Pembokes there and a couple of Indian Spitfires? Martin Edited January 5, 2018 by RidgeRunner

Eric Mc
I first visited Blackbushe in 1980 and the Ju 52s were still there then (as well as some cardboard cut out B-17s). So were some of the C-47s. Edited January 6, 2018 by Eric Mc

Maybe they ended up elsewhere . The Mitchellls were great to record . Also around late 77 or 78 there were some African ( from Congo???)T-28s at Biggin. Have severalpics of those too. RidgeRunner
Yes, Paul, I got to Biggin for the Zairoise T-28s. In fact I had one earmarked for a model build. Martin Edited January 6, 2018 by RidgeRunner
Paul J
An-26s at GATWICK December 16th 1978: As viewed from the terminal building... Then from the runway on departure. During same year, but date unknown as yet. Taken at Southend Museum. I believe this one is now beautifully restored and in the RAF Museum Hendon. Taken at Redhill on a winters day in '78. The Antonov reggie/serials were: S/R(or if you prefer CCCP-)47329, 47330, 47331, 47332 and 47323 according to my log for the time.
RidgeRunner
Nice, Paul. Sadly I didn't get shots of the Antonovs. My mate and I - he worked for the BAA - drove down to see them but I without my camera! :(. They are went on to the Cuban Air Force. that isn't Redhill, by the way. Too many large buildings around. Southend? Must have taken the Wessex at the same time as the Harvard Although, I do have several slides of Bristow choppers and BN-2 taken at their Redhill base. Includes Bell 212, Puma Wessex, Whirlwind and Alouette III.
RidgeRunner
Do you remember the Ghanaian Wessex. There were two G-630 and G-631, one green and one in a white/yellow, I think? And then, of course, there were the ex-Heersflieger H-34s that came in via Gatwick. Martin Martin Edited January 7, 2018 by RidgeRunner

Martin Martin Not sure I saw the Ghanian ones. Will have to check my logs. As for the German H-34 I have pics of the front ends once removed from the rest when they were converted to turbine power. Will have a look for the pics and post here (or a fresh thread)with other Redhill stuff.

All in the white and glossy OD colours with yellow serials on fin. Nice colourful days for the military.
Pete in Lincs
I too remember the Fennecs and Mitchells at Blackbushe. I was based at Odiham then. We had a film crew at Odiham for part of Hanover street. Probably just some airfield shots? I think I remember the Luftwaffe marked Ju52 as well. Which film was that marked up for? I wonder. Thanks for reviving some almost forgotten memories.
