Steven Eisenman Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 (edited) Look at the T'bolt in the rear, is that a sun cover bring removed, or masking? Given the presence of the B-29, one could expect a good amount of USAAF bombs around for use. Also the codes on RS*G appear darker (bluer?) than RS*B, which also appear quite new. dfqweofekwpeweiop4 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Funnily enough, I have my Thundebolt Mk II sat on my printer which just happens to be RS G, from that pic. thanks Mike

cuprar Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 love the bubble thunderbolt, my best ww2 fighter, didn't like the razor back
mhaselden Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Great pic! Interesting that the 30 Sqn badge is just visible on the white stripe across the fin of the nearest aircraft.

dfqweofekwpeweiop4 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 If its any help my model of RS G is coded HD265 and the letters RS G are in the lighter of the 2 blues used in the roundels. Hopefully Hasegawa got it right with the markings, the kit though is by Tamiya. thanks Mike

Mentalguru Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 It's such a large aircraft, one can only conclude the average German fighter pilot must have been a terrible shot!
Seahawk Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 It's such a large aircraft, one can only conclude the average German fighter pilot must have been a terrible shot! Isn't the Thunderbolt the origin of the old joke about the pilot performing evasive action by running around the cockpit?
Terry McGrady Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Aircraft in the background may be HD260. Thanks for that. In that case Airframe survived the war to be SOC 28th March 1946 after seeing further service on 79 SQ Cheers Terry McGrady
