Mu17
Having decided to stick to 1/144 for this type, due to its size, I am vacillating. I had seen some on ebay but they seem to have vanished. Any suggestions for best price/postage/import duty to the UK ? Bearing in mind there are no original drawings of the H.XVIII first version - other than perspective drawings- I believe the wingtips are the wrong shape - easily fixed with some sanding. The Hortens generally used the same tip curve on all their designs - unsurprisingly you will find a fit in your schoolboy set of French curves. Mu17
I suspect that not all Horten fans will have spotted the Rumourmonger entry for the new High Valley Models FMA IAe 37 - a prone piloted delta designed by Reimar Horten in Argentina. Have a look, its a very nice model indeed. Paul

ho590hm
Just received mine from HLJ. The image of ordnance is not complete. For the bomb bay you get a choice of a very large single bomb (type unspecified), two SC1000, four SC250, or 32 SC50. For underwing, the instructions show 12 hardpoints, which can accommodate a selection from 8 Fritz-X, 4 Henschel Hs293, 4 Bv246, and up to 8 of the 20 Ruhrstahl X-4 provided. There are enough pylons provided for everything, which will undoubtedly cover the other boxings. These weapons fill quite a lot of the 13cm depth of the box....and should provide some good quality spares.

US72217's instructions don't show any ordnance except the large bomb, but towards the end they show other weapons fits with a note that they're available separately. Interestingly, right now the '72217 kit plus the Fritz-X/Hs 293/BV 246 accessory kit on eBay are less expensive than HLJ's "Amerikabomber" price. ho590hm
I got the Amerikabomber that I had on order from 2021. Just a note that the instructions for assembling the control surfaces are wrong - you need to select the components with the locating pins and match them with the corresponding holes. There is also no mention of the nose gear strut C28.....
Peter O
Thanks for clarifying that. Since the Amerikabomber is currently twice the price of the original issue, I'll probably stick with my plan to get the original issue plus the German Luftwaffe Weapon Set 3. Otherwise I'd be paying extra for way more weapons than I'll ever use. Thanks for the heads-up on the instruction problems too. Duly noted! ho590hm
For completeness, the control surface assemblies should be R1 - A3 B6 R2 - A2 B8 L1 - A4 B5 L2 - A1 B7 C28 fits behind the nose gear. Not sure why the hypothetical scheme has unpainted metal under the exhausts but not where they exhaust over the upper surfaces.
