  1. Are there any pictures of one over New York City for the 3rd option?
  2. Resicast and Legend do conversions in 1/35, but I'm not sure of the availability of the Resicast one. The Heavy Hobby appears to be sold as Lanmo but I'm not sure of that either.

    Subaltern

Cheers for that Mark, I'll give it a go next time

    Subaltern

Brigades used to have REME officers known as BEME (brigade Electrical and Mechanical Engineer) and their Warrant Officer (artificer) who was known as BART (Brigade Artificer). UN Force Cyprus had FEME but wouldn't let the artificer call himself FART

    Subaltern

I don't think I was very clear in my earlier post. Women in the forces had the same rank insignia but different rank titles. Where male officers would be 2nd Lt, Lt and Captain, women In the ATS would be 2nd Subaltern, Subaltern and Junior Commander. As Julien correctly pointed out it's a term that has been used by the British Army for what seems like forever. It was the same in the Navy and Air Force with women wearing the same rank insignia as me but having different rank titles (like Susannah York in The Battle of Britain) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_ranks_of_women%27s_services_in_WWII Sorry, but I should learn to post links properly

    Subaltern

I believe that Subaltern was the title of the officers' rank for women (the Queen had been one during her wartime service). Whereas men were Lieutenants but sometimes referred to as subalterns, in keeping with the British Army's tradition of being as confusing as possible and using the same words to describe different things. I think that storyline was put in as a filler as she would have had a completely different format service number from that of male officers.
  7. I'm a bit disappointed in the series as the drama parts don't match the quality of the action parts. The portrayal of the British seems to lack any sympathy apart from the Blitz victims and the kids near the airfield. Everyone else is either stupid or a snob or both at the same time. I didn't expect it to be as good as Band of Brothers as that followed a small group of people who we got to know and admire, but the heavy casualties of the air war don't lend themselves to this and it's where I think it's where Masters is more like The Pacific. The book deals with aspects such as race relations within the US Army and with the local populace, so I imagine this is where the Tuskegee Airmen will come in.
  8. Thanks europapete, I appreciate you doing that. I'm usually good at Googling but had no luck with anything other than the Albatros D.Vs. I think the only D.VII I found was Mai's striped aircraft. I'm a bit surprised as I thought that with him being one of the top aces his aircraft would have more information recorded.
  9. I was looking at the Jasta 5 Windsock book and noticed that there were no images of his Fokker Dr.1 or Fokker D.VII. The Special on the D.VII says that there are few pictures of them in service with Jasta 5, so I was wondering whether anyone had come across any pictures other than the striped Albatros D.V and the D.V with the head motif on the sides. Cheers Phil
  10. I like the look of the 1/32 Henschel HS 123
  11. They're ready for the rollout later today
  12. There is now what they call a "teaser" up on Apple TV+. Looks good
  13. I think that the list of countries may be for all the variants from the 26 to the 726 Phil
