  1. After the photos of the construction work, https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235130854-dornier-do-17-z-7-172-from-icm-do17-z-10-–-wip/#comment-4782624 here are some pictures of the Do17 Z-7 (obtained from the Do17 Z-10 ICM). The most important works were in the engines area and in the cockpit, otherwise the model is quite good, as mentioned in the previous WIP post. Note the MG15 machine gun on the cockpit roof. Resin nose and decals are from OWL R72050. The model represents a 2./NJG 2 or 1./NJG 1 aircraft, waiting to be repainted in black, photographed at Düsseldorf, september 1940. The previous code '2N+BH' was obliterated, except the individual letter ' B '. As my usual, the model is painted entirely by brush with RLM 70/71/65 (mixtures of Humbrol Enamels). Hope you like it. Thanks for your attention. Criticisms and suggestions welcome. Giampiero Piva
  2. Way back in 1984 I made a Do17 Z-10 by 'crossing' the Monogram and Frog kits, and in 2018 I decided to start a Z-7. Overall, the Dornier 17 Z ICM is a good kit, finer than the Airfix one, less cumbersome to build, with an almost perfect fit of the various parts, better clear elements, very fine and sturdy landing gear (not broken in the box as often happens with Airfix) and correct angle of the left rudder, but presents a macroscopic error in the engine area (part 41), which requires a very boring job of self-construction of the bars placed between the engine and the naca, after detailing Bramo 323 (I used the Vector 72010 resin ones) engines. Other work is needed to detail a bit the sides of landing gear bays. The cockpit details give a fair OOB results, but for a better result some modifications are necessary. Note that the bomber version (4 men crew) lack one seat, but the 3 seats of the kit are enough for the nightfighter 3 men crew. In any case, anyway, it will be preferable to use the Eduard 73584 photoetched set for the cockpit interior. The Z-7 (Kauz I) had a new nose with 3x7.9 mm. MG17 machine guns and one 20 mm. MG151 cannon . For the nose the right choice is the set OWL R72050, but the weapons and the ammo boxes must be self-built. The model, colored with a brush as always, is in 70/71/65 (mixtures of Humbrol Enamels). Note at this point that some aircraft had a pivoting MG15 in the cockpit’s roof. Hope you like it. 3. Thanks all for looking and dropping the likes and positive feedback. I appreciate it!
  4. Among the most interesting and unusual aircraft to have crossed the German skies in 1945 is certainly the BV155, derived, at least in part, from the Me155 project (and Me P.1091) for a high altitude fighter interceptor. Overall the kit is good, but it is preferable to make some modifications to the cockpit, the engine hood… …the landing gear wells and the landing gear itself. The model represents the V1 prototype, which flew for the first time taking off from Hamburg-Finkenwärder in January 1945. It should be noted that, contrary to what was represented by all (or almost all) the designers and model makers, the fuselage crosses were not white/black, but white/RLM 81. The camouflage pattern, done with a brush as always, is in RLM 81/82 (mixtures of Humbrol Enamels). The undersides Hope you like it. Thanks for your attention. Giampiero Piva

  7. This is a work of many years ago, so unfortunately there is no WIP part, but only the photos of the finished model. In any case, I remind those who intend to build it that the parachutes of the HWK 109-509 take-off rockets must be enlarged and that the trim actuators (2 above and 2 below) and the aileron actuators (2 above) must be added to the wings. The cockpit has been partially modified, both with self-builds and with the use of the Eduard photoetched sheet. The aircraft shown is a reconnaissance B-2 of Kommando Sperling, operating from Rheine in November 1944. The plane represented is a B-2 reconnaissance plane of Kommando Sperling, operating from Rheine in November 1944. The aircraft was also quite shiny (probably polished ad hoc to gain speed). The scheme, typical of many AR234, is the classic RLM 70/71/65. The colors, applied exclusively by brush, are the excellent good, old Gloys. Finally some details of the cockpit. Hope you like it. Thanks for your attention. Giampiero Piva
