  1. Hi Found this at an old and deleted forum on ARC about puttied panels Pics here posted are under the fair use images for illustration purposes only; original post at http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/21362-mustang-wings-and-panel-seams/page/6/
  2. Hi Thanks for this very fine clarification. I would like to know HOW these changes from black to grey 36231 cockpits were made ? in the field ? back to USAF or North American paint shops ? Cheers SouthViper
  3. Hi That is my approach : The danger of self destruction is so old as the Human race and science explains it very well and History demonstrates it even better. That's because I believe the Armed Forces being interest in converting the fantastic Concorde in a Nuclear War Vector was not so insane as today's one might think. In Germany during 60's 70's there was the thinking "better Dead than Red" and the Germans, particularly the German Women, know the soviet communist army better than any people... so transforming German cities in radioactive fields is not so far from that the Soviets made during the WWII German invasion. I would believe the Concorde would be a Direct Vector disguised as a civil plane and this explains the interest of the CCCP at that time in develop the Tu-144 Charger. In case of war in Europe, rapidly turned into Nuclear War, there would not be such things like big civilian aircraft flying alongside borders of the Countries involved because the war efforts prohibited such expenses of strategic fuels. I would think the BAE engineers know from the beginning the Concorde could accept some ASM tactical nuclear missiles to be used against strategic Cities, airports, factories, military bases, what else, using adaptations from tactical missiles like the AIM Genie, Falcon or SRAM on rotary launcher or launchers mounted inside fuselage since no passengers would be there, as we see in B-52s. It would be the Final War so not many nuke bombs would be necessary. Cheers SouthViper Both images are posted here under the fair use of images for illustration purposes only.
  4. Hi Giorgio N Many thanks, grazie mille per l`a informazione. SouthViper
  5. Hi For sure Phantome Plasticmodelism demands hard work IF you want to go for conversions, scratch building and prototypes, for some it is easy to buy and build what is in a box, fine, this is an Hobby. But not "just patently false" The F-16 series remains the same basic frame design from the beginning FSD F-16s. So, what is the problem to "doing all that" ? Cheers SV
  6. Hi Madcop I really do believe You can find the old NORTHSTAR template for the venerable Monogram Revel F-100D there in Europe, with some friends of You or at some model shops or plasticmodellers contests. About one thing You must be sure ... somebody near You has what You want, or knows who has it !🙂 Cheers SouthViper Cheers
  7. Hi Regarding F-105 B--D-F-G series the Detail & Scale had fine plans Also the Squadron Signal Books on the F-105 had 1/72 plans Cheers SV
  8. Hi In fact the Rhodesian Air War do not had Rockwell Broncos. A very good book over this conflict is the "Britain's Rebel Air Force", By Roy Nesbit & Dudley Cowderoy, with Andrew Thomas. ISBN 1-902304-05-5 Excellent read instructive and historical, illustrated with time photos. They do not mention the OV-10 any time during all the war, nor after. Instead the Southern Rhodesia had various Reims Cessna FTB 337G (4º sqn) Cheers SV
  9. Hi I am still doing it for some Years... you know time is priceless, moving, social life, studies, etc... You will need strong search, first define what MRCA you wish to do. Books like Aeroguide, Squadron In Action, Salamander are Your best friends. Cheers SV
  10. Hi Well, the title says it all, as I need to make 1/48 scale .30 ammo belts feeders -what I do not have in hands-, I was wondering IF I could use the .50 ammo belts feeders in 1/72 scale to perform the trick ? Some kind of math here ... Cheers SV
  11. Hi I know the Aires, Eduard, Verlinden, resin sets for these jets. Some new manufacturers are announcing new fine sets made with what they call New Technologies, perhaps made from 3D prints materials Cheers. SV
  12. Hi Sure You made the right choice. Monogram made the A-7A, in 1/48 scale, back in the 70"s. Was fine for that time with the Monogram Revell filosophy (raised lines). HobbyBoss made various versions for its A-7, 1/48, but is in fact a big disappointment because they were launched as early as the 2000s !!! The Italian ESCI also made A-7D and A-7E, 1/48 back in 1986, but was not so accurate, and they had very weapons within the moldel... and very crude MERs ! For the Hasegawa A-7s You have several aftermaket sets to enhance Your A7. Cheers SV
  13. Hi, I do believe the best 1-72 kit of the F-16 for any version is the Tamiya. Backdating to an earlier version is like doing the same as GD or LM made but in reverse... if you allow me to say that. Different modellers have unique observations on an airframe and at same time they left others detais forgotten. I remember seeing the Prototype 568 with an Y Pitot tube (like the one on the SR71] while at same time no other guy had saw it ! The same for wheels, tires, lights, intake trunking, canopies, etc... Internet search is ok, pics also, books and magazines are fantastic, but the best source is talking about to friendly experienced modellers. Cheers SV
  14. Hi Just saw it announced at Aviation Megastore news. there comes the Convair TF-102A 'Deuce", by RVHP Models C7241 Hope RVHP produces this Conversion also in 1:48 and 1:32 scales too. SouthViper
  15. Hi everyone, Thank You all for bringing me on board. I'm Brazilian with interest in aircrafts, space, war and to preserve the occidental civilization. I have begin in modelling as early as a child , was out for studying and working hard for decades ... I still do so. Now I am returning and wish to improve my skills, specially in painting and weathering. Thanks SouthViper
  16. Read the pinned post at the head of this forum please.
  17. Well... after seeing the new Kinetic Hawker Harriers 1/48 kits I am sure I will have to substitute those crude ``bricks like`` vortex generators over wings, so I ask if does exist some PE Manufacturers that produces some Vortex for Harriers or another airplanes ? All images reproduced here under fair use of images for illustrations purposes only / Thanks SouthViper
  18. Hi, I have measured the things for you : 01- you have the measurement of the inside Part C1, from front edge to first hole = 33,12mm , 02- you have the measurement of the exterior Part C1, from front edge to first hole = 33,12mm , 03- you have the measurement of the inside Part C1, from front edge to the SECOND hole = 94,26mm., 04- you have the measurement of the Exterior Part C1, from front edge to the SECOND hole = 94,26mm., and... 05- pictured here the under belly tank has two sprue points measuring 61,47mm between they, including they Yes I know there are more easy ways to make this. 19. Hi, That's it . Thanks Jens SouthViper
  20. Hi Searching for the F-16XL Ship 2 belly fuselage details I ask IF XL-2 fuselage belly had the "coke shape" like F-106, F-105 had ? I can't remember where I saw a picture from bellow of the XL1 or 2 and it seems to me that it had the coke shape , and seeing pics of the new XL-2 from Kinetic it has an straight belly fuselage Thanks SouthViper
  21. Hi all I would like to know about any comparisons between Yak-28s kits from Bobcat and HB offers ? What I really mean is about their scale (1/48) accuracy as well about their quality Thank You SouthViper
  22. Thanks guys What I meant by comparisons between Monogram x Hobbyboss kits is about dimensions, and specially, about volumetry of the nose section, as I presume they are the same on A-10As and the NAW-A-10 prototype , because I am planning to install the fine Master Gun Muzzle on it so I think proportions are mandatory . Thanks for Your patience... would said Shakespeare SouthViper
  23. I am working on the 1/48 NAW-A10, by HobbyBoss. As I do not have the Monogram-Revell kit to make myself comparisons between both kits I ask if does exist some article on Internet regarding corrections or fixing some issues on the HobbyBoss NA/AW-A-10 ? specially regarding the front fuselage dimensions ? Thanks SouthViper
