  1. Wouldn’t say no. I have almost every other modern fighter in the collection.
  2. Looking good. I must admit that even with open cockpit builds an awful lot of internal detail is pretty much invisible once the fuselage is zipped up. With a closed canopy very little is discernible…
  3. I’m thinking initial Sopwith/Hawker designs anything else would be post merger, to maintain a coherent timeline.
  4. Proceeding with my thunderbolts and the Blackburn. Busy with work, music and we have a painter in doing my hall, lung room and master bedroom so the house is all over the place. But I did manage to get this done today. Two broom handles and some scrap timber just need to add some spacers, comfortably holds all my guitars (for those interested from left to right Ibanez AE20, 40 year old Concerter with added electronics and upgraded machines, Ibanez Gem Junior, Aria Pro II bass, H&S 6 string fretless bass) with a little room for expansion ( I’d really love a Jazzmaster or an Electromatic ahem)
  5. now in three dimensions some cross pieces then a few diagonal struts and that should do it. I’m thinking that the pilot and observer probably had raised floors and I’m assuming that all the space in between houses a radio operator and/or a navigator.
  6. Well @Enzo the Magnificent in his magnificence has granted not one week but two so we now have until the 14th of January to complete our builds. Hmm I wonder if I can find another thunderbolt kit……
  7. Just realized the dates may be a bit awkward, but not impossible. I’ll be building in instalments and definitely using rattlecans for paint. Hmm need to get a good pale grey for the walker…..
  8. I suppose I wouldn’t say no to another week as things always seem to be all over the place. And since three is the number of unanimity, it’s unanimous 😀 @Enzo the Magnificent could you do the honours? Thank you.
  9. For some reason it’s a great scale to build in. I find I’m much more focused in the paint scheme and the overall finish when I build in this scale plus almost everything is available in the scale and it’s a great scale for large subjects.
  10. Fellow Britmodellers and Thunderbolt fans we have 17 completed builds many still in progress and exactly two weeks to finish your builds. So once more unto the breech and let’s get those last few builds over the line. I’m good to blitz my four builds but if anyone needs an extension now’s the time to ask….
  11. Well I’d be up for any of them. I particularly like the dazzle and fantasy cam proposals. What about compiling them into a single camo build and encompass any scheme with three or more colours eg losenge, digital etc….
  12. I wear a white coat to work does that make mine a professional opinion?? Biennial Bunfights I like the idea!
  13. It was wasn’t it. Here’s to Entropy II which we can pitch for 2026…
  14. Some artwork for the decals on the razorback. just need to scale it then print it. Thursday and Saturday I have a full free day to blitz these four. I’ll get the tailplanes on and the canopies done between now and then and may use a rattlecan for primer and natural metal. Which means I can jump straight into camo on Thursday.
  15. I’d be inclined to try buffing it with a microfibre cloth or some scotchbrite. Then possibly give it a rub with some graphite powder. Or maybe just some clear varnish.
  16. I balked at getting one for years. But tbh it’s not that difficult to use and the finish is head and shoulders above brush painting plus there’s a lot of stuff that you can only do properly with an airbrush. Schemes like this, just not feasible with a hairy stick I do have an iwata and a badger compressor but my work horse is a kkmoon that cost about €20 euro and a no name compressor for painting nails that cost about the same. https://read.amazon.co.uk/kp/kshare?asin=B01DPPWIG0&id=rgv54iy5anbyti7o2kdkqdkfxy&reshareId=GZN82GTS7QZS65WV77C8&reshareChannel=system https://read.amazon.co.uk/kp/kshare?asin=B07FPVDFMZ&id=svgfssmmgbandibhabifjbp6ra&reshareId=6VN72CMY3SCR19WV41YZ&reshareChannel=system Finally I found both of these a great help in getting started.
  17. I have fitted the Merlin started adding the water and I’m chipping away at it. Must post an update. Sooner rather than later..
  18. Definitely in, I have two Star Wars builds. One still printing and one ready to go.
  19. Now looking suitably distressed I’ll add some greeblies and pipes next and then a mesh floor I think.
  20. I don’t know about you @Corsairfoxfouruncle but I’m definitely not a youngling and seeing as to how the I’ve completed knights of the old republic (1 & 2) technically I’m a Jedi ( and a with as I did Kotor twice once on the light side and once as a Sith ) so I went for padawans.
  21. So French and French operated in Africa or just the latter? Would this have qualified? Either way count me in I’m sure I have several candidates in the stash.
