  1. Wayne, there are so many things that I like about this build. The towropes, and how you've attached them is brilliantly done, and the dusty/dirty finish is excellent. Nice one mate. John.
  2. Nice work with the hairy stick Maddoxx. How's the bathroom coming on? John.
  3. Thanks a lot Paul. This was one of my more enjoyable builds. John.
  4. That's a superb effort. The painting and weathering are spot on. Nice one. John.
  5. A last ditch suggestion would be to use the Airfix tracks (the ones that you've already assembled), put them on the model so that the gap is either behind the track guards or under one of the road wheels, and then cut a suitable sized section from the rubber band tracks, and fill in the gap with that. If you're going to fix the finished model to a base, it won't show. John.
  6. Thanks for your comments Gaz. Much appreciated. John.
  7. That's an excellent model. The paint work and the weathering are first class. John.
  8. I've been watching a tribute program to Billy Connolly that I recorded from Chnl.5, and I have to say that it has been achingly funny. The joke that really creased me up was as follows. The Queen Mother is sharing a carriage with the king of Tonga at HM Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953. As they are proceeding along the Mall, one of the horses let's rip. The Queen Mother turns to the King of Tonga and says "I do apologise for that", to which the King of Tonga says, "Oh! It was you. I thought it was the horse".
  9. If you do go down the route of using Fruilmodel tracks, this is how they can look. They are very easy to assemble, and they give you way more links than is required. John.
  10. If they're anything like the rubber band tracks in the Tamiya kit, they're not that bad. The Cromwell that I'm refurbishing at the moment has got those on it. And if all else fails, there's always Fruilmodel. I used them on a couple of my Cromwell/Centaurs. They're the best. John.
  11. Hi James. It's looking very good. I don't know if this will help with your track problem, but looking at the first photo in your last post, the tracks seem to be set unnaturally. If you look at photos of Cromwells, the tracks tend to hover above the first and last road wheel, and just touch on the second, third and fourth. That might help fill the gap in the links. HTH. John.
  12. Hi Fabio, and thanks for your comments. Well, I've got a Stuart Vl I can add to the mix, so we'd only need one more. John.
  13. That's a cracking little model. I like the way that you've shown the windows half open. Nice work. John.
  14. This is going to sound a little out of place, but one of my biggest modelling mistakes is to join a group build. As soon as I have a deadline to work to, I lose interest in what I'm building. I think that it's happened on every one that I've joined (possibly bar one). Nothing wrong with the GB's, it's just the way that I am. Plus the fact that my build rate is glacial. Usually about two completions a year.....if I'm lucky. But to follow up on what Mike said about mistakes, there used to be someone on here, who I believe is one of our cousins from across the pond, whose signature said it all IMO. It was something like "improving my model building, one mistake at a time". Says it all. John.
  15. Welcome aboard Mack, from a dyed in the wool Sherman fan; Brit/Commonwealth/Israeli. John.
  16. I agree with everything that's already been said. Absolutely brilliant. John.
  17. Excellent detail that you're putting in there MD. Looking really good. Nice work. John.
  18. That's superb. You've captured that Caunter scheme perfectly, with just the right amount of weathering. Nice work. John.
  19. I can see that there's a lot of work gone into this, and it's paid off because it looks great Ed. Nice work. John.
  20. Thanks to you both for the comments and suggestions. I take your point Peter regarding the colour of the turret hatch cover. I couldn't discern from the photo as to the actual colour, so I went for silver, not white. I couldn't get a clear view of the aerial base, and the ammo box was what happens when you rely of B&W photos and colour profiles. As for the starting handle hole; mia culpa! I should have realised that mistake. Thanks again for the comments. John.
  21. One day, a man came home and was greeted by his wife dressed in stunningly sexy lingerie. "Tie me up," she purred, "And you can do anything you want." So he tied her up and went and played golf.
  22. Thank you gents. Your comments are really appreciated. John.
