  1. I think that could be ‘774 as’777 has a dull red ejection seat handle
  2. https://www.flight-manuals-online.com/product/fairey-delta-2/ shows a period photo of the cockpit. Its not black
  3. Just got mine. What a beautiful kit. I think the surface detailing is just about as scale perfect as one could wish for. Just a couple of things. I have not found any evidence of the FD2 having those large blade aerials. I can only find pictures showing whip aerials instead. The cockpit should be painted medium gray, not black. Improvements I might make include making the inner faces of the inner MLG doors more substantial, drill out the holes on the main wheel hubs, make some slots that apppear on the fuselage at the base of the fin, and thining the strakes between the intakes and fuselage. i have seen a photo of WG777 painted blue but with a shiny silver front fuselage. Looks gorgeous! Might consider doing that!
  4. I have and I just so happened to mention this fact to the person designing the decals. He said they had heard about it but could find no reference. I promptly found a picture showing it and sent it to him so hopefully will be included.
  5. Single seater has an earlier mark of Martin Baker seats (mark 3 I think) and not the mark 7 in the twin
  6. Now that Trumptee have released their kit of HMS Scylla I would like to convert it to its sister ship HMS Charybdis for my daughter in laws family, who lost a loved one when it sank. I’m afraid I don’t know a lot about ships, much less the terminology used, so I am reaching out here for guidance. For example what is an X position? What is a star shell? How was she painted? and finally, if you experts were going to do this conversion, what modifications would you make? Thank you
  7. I shall follow this with interest. Mark Long frequently called into the fire station at Cotswold Airport where I work where we would just chat and chill between flights. We shall miss him
  8. Isn’t this whole thread wishlisting?
  9. The instructions show that the IRST is not used, but that is incorrect. Blackjack does sport this device. Strange when the colour profiles and the made up model in the instructions both have the IRST
  10. Has anyone done a comparison between the two? I ask as I’m in a quandary as to which one to get. Putting the size to one side, I do like the stressed skin effect on Airfix’s model, but having a penchant for Tamiya kits, I have always wanted to have to have a crack with one of their 1/32 kits. I would be interested to know how the detailing compares, and which is deemed the more accurate.
  11. I recently discovered that there is a Fox moth based at an airfield down the road from me. I am friends with one of the pilots that operates from there , so as soon as lockdown lifts I will have the opportunity to get up close with my camera and ruler
  12. I would say it is the Airfix wing that is wrong then. Ther should be one more, shorter rib outboard of the wing tip light
  13. You have the port wing root lined up with the centre line of the fuselage instead of the outside edge. Try it and see how it looks
