cger Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Hi all, here are some pictures of a small dio I just finished. It shows the recently released FineMolds Ohka, which is very easy to build. The base was done with some modelling paste covered with sand and cat liter. The rocks are done with chunks of plaster. I have tried to mimick some pictures of captured Ohka on Okinawa that I found on the Web. Enjoy! Christian.
cheeley Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 That's a great little diorama Christian, and an unusual subject. Chris
scotthldr Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Really nice, how did you do the weathering on the oil drums?
HOUSTON Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Christian, What a truly MAGNIFICENT, OUTSTANDINGLY STUNNING Diorama. The Base is EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT and the use of cat litte and chunks of plaster just makes it look SO REAL...AWESOME work..The Ohka is SUPERBE... BRAVO.. HOUSTON

cger Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 thanks a lot for your kind comments, I am glad that you like it. The oil drums were done with tin foil taken from a cognac bottle, shaped around a Tamiya oil drum. The bottoms were done with plastic card, cut with a compas. The drums were then coated with flat varnish and sprinkled with artificial snow (baking soda would work too), to give them texture. I applied a base coat of various rush shades then painted the drums with a sponge. Some more rust spots were added with pigments and oils. It takes time but is is quite easy to do, best, Christian.
Spitfire31 Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Very atmospheric and a great composition, realised with matchless artistry. Pure inspiration! /Joachim
