Beard
Collected a new phone today (which I reckon I'll break in the next 6 weeks) so there'll be photographs of my progress in the next couple of days. 2
Beard
I haven't broken my new phone (yet), so here are some photographs (you'll have to click on the link as Flickr is playing up). The MkVI had had a gloss coat and is ready for decals: https://flic.kr/p/HDqX98 The MkIX has had a coat of Colourcoats Sky Blue BS1: https://flic.kr/p/21vqjUb Thand for looking.

Beard
Started to stick the stickers on the MkVI... (I know I've forgotten to do the yellow leading edge markings. D'oh!) Thanks for looking. Edited December 20, 2017 by Beard to update Flickr link.

Beard
Decals nearly done on the MkVI and the MkIX is nearly ready for a gloss coat: In the background you'll notice one of my end-of-year clear-the-decks builds. Thamms for looking. Edited December 20, 2017 by Beard to embed photograph.

Cookenbacher
They're looking great Simon. I must admit that I had a look around on your online aeroplane album (the arrow buttons were right there!), really cool stuff! Did you brush paint the Hellcat? The gloss finish is so smooth. Thanks Cookie. I did brush-paint the Hellcat, I used Colourcoats Glossy Sea Blue and it has a gloss coat (both before and after the decals).
Beard
The MkVII and MkIX are finished: and I've just started putting the transfers on the High Altitude Flight MkIX: It's unlikely to be finished before the end of the year but the two in the background almost certainly will be. Thanks for looking.

Beard
While the paint is drying on my Tempest in the Matchbox GB and my wife watches Eastenders, I've been fiddling with some Spitfires. Did the leading-edge stripes on the MkVI: (Those of you of a nervous disposition who are thinking "he's put masking tape over a transfer, it'll end in disaster" don't fear, it's had several coats of Klear and will be fine (but thanks for your concern.)) Also started sticking sticky-out bits on the MkIX (although you can't see them all from the angle this photograph was taken from): (I have a feeling that the radio was removed, I'll have to check my copy of Spitfire At War IV.) I've also given the Beaufighter MkI that made a guest appearance earlier in this thread a second coat of Middle Stone but, as it's not a Spitfire and photograph is rather dull (well, duller than two I've just posted), it doesn't get a second appearance. There won't be any more progress on these two for the next couple of days as I'm off to Worthing tomorrow. Thanks for looking. keefr22
I really, really like that blue! Nice progress Simon, that Tiffie looks rather splendid too - and what a beast it is against that dainty 109! Keith

I'd call the Tiffie 'big bones, rather than a beast, because I wouldn't want to hurt it's feelings. 1
Cookenbacher
Somehow out of 'likes' for the day already. Top work Simon, I really like the high altitude grey/blue schemes. Also, nice to see a 109 in proper colours.

Beard
Last week I was on a training course in Birmingham so no modelling done but I squeezed some in this weekend. The MkVI has had a matt coat and it's exhausts installed:
Beard
The MkIX is catching up with the MkVI... which means it's nearly time to make a start on some more MkVbs. This one: (as suggested by PC) and this one: (the winner of the popular vote). I plan to make a start on them on Wednesday. Thanks for looking.
amblypygid
Nice pair of Spits, Beard. 33 minutes ago, Beard said: as suggested by PC Is that Jan Zumbach's steed? I just acquired Wojtek Matusiak's three volume history of 303 Squadron, so despite originally voting for the popular winner, I'm dead keen to see his steed as well. 1
