F-15A Erding Open Day 1978 Hasegawa/Monogram kitbash 1:72

Recommended Posts

Hello Modellers,

Very old build, brand new pictures...

This Bitburg Eagle was one of my favourites at airshow Erding 1978. I made a lot of pictures. W/O 1992. 0071 (128th FS, 116th FW, Georgia ANG) collided with 75-0075 over eastern Tennessee Jan 15, 1992. 0071 Pilot bailed out. 0075 landed safely.

I built this kitbash 1978/1979. Unit Badge is handpainted. Has some signs of ageing now.

Cheers

Tom

Good looking Eagle!!!

Unfortunately nothing left here in Erding 😢 Fligerhorst is almost completely abandoned.

Alex

Thank you all!

@ steve: Yes the old ones looked so good....

@ Alex: 120.000 plus were there and the  DM Museums-Draken in her original colors too. Good old times....

Cheers

Wow!! That is amazing!! It has endured the years amazingly well. I still have a Monogram Strike Eagle in my stash and this gives me hope as to how good it can look despite it's age.

Thank you!

I have this too, albeit Revell reissue. The F-15A Kit had old unclipped wings as had Hasegawa. 🙂

Very nice build! These were the good old times were the word „weathering „ was a foreign word for us. We were glad when it turns out like yours. Clean and flawless! Good to see this one as a part of model history.

Cheers
