BMW 750iL - Done!

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I finally got this beastie over the finish line before the end of 2020.

It's just that the pictures were languishing in my Camera until a day or so ago!

This one fought me to the end.

There are a number of faults. The boot-lid doesn't fit properly and the rubbing strips brightwork didn't come out as I had hoped, but I am reasonably happy with the outcome.

I think though, that I should have polished the paintwork a bit more.

If I do, I'll post some more pictures.

Thanks  for looking,

Alan.

Good to see this one reach the end - I seem to remember you starting this along with about 10 other kits so no wonder it took a while. As I think we all know, black is usually a pain so it probably is making the lack of polishing more noticeable than it would be on most other kits. Still a good result though.

Nice to see this one done, I enjoyed the build thread even if the kit presented plenty of challenges.  I watched one of these kits go for silly money on ebay earlier this year, I can't remember if I put in a bid but it got well into the hundred pound region as I recall.
