AP-2H Neptune VAH-21

While looking for cockpit photos of a P2V-5 for another topic discussion, I found this excellent website dedicated to the AP-2H and its use in Vietnam. I have seen a couple of these done as conversions, and they were both very impressive. IIRC, there might have been an aftermarket conversion set for this variant, and I think there is a preserved example out there. Enjoy! @RidgeRunner- How about this one instead, Martin?

I was right! Here is a photo and history of the sole survivor.

Hi Mike!

No, it’s an OP-2E for me :). I’ve seen the preserved AP-2H in Pima in 1979. I’ll get to grips with the OP eventually ;)

Same here, I have the kit, the blackbird conversion and the caracal decals.

And I see from the latest Big H newsletter than Hasegawa has (once again) re-released its Neppie kit.

At what price tho!

The one I have still has the $6 USD tag on the end of the box! (No smart-a-- remarks about how old I am from the gallery, thank you very much!)

Mike

That's the price I paid for mine when I bought it brand new back in the early '70s at Squadron(when they still had physical shops).

I have always liked the Neptune and can remember first building building a Monogram or Revell version of it in the 1960's. I have a couple of the Hasegawa kits in the stash including this one

Nice, been trying to get that one for a while now but online prices just too high

Wow, I just took a quick look and couldn't believe the asking prices for the kit, I had no idea. Even the regular Neptune prices are (I think) ridiculous, of course I may be living in the past.,
