Although the P-40 is not a subject I'm normally interested in your father's addition of a Soviet scheme has caught my attention. Off to a good start again as always

Excellent progress. I'm doing an P-40N in the Curtiss GB so will be watching with interest.

Watch out for the wing joint. Mine needed filler.

My dad usually uses masking tape like shown in the pic. That way, the fuselage-wing joints get pressed together and hardly leave a gap.

Maybe some minor filler, like with most models, will be neccessary.

Here´s the newest upcoming project by my dad. Being right on the way with the Soviet 109, he decided to stay on the Eastern Front.

Realy interesting choice.

there is a very handy review of the decal sheet here

In Russian, but has the photos the P-40's the decals are of.

the little winged logo under the tailplane is a PARM unit, a VVS repair unit, repaired, so repainted.

The speculation is grey AMT-11 over blue AMT-7,  which seem reasonable.

Hope of interest?

Nice, thanks! My dad prefers to have a foto of the real thing for reference. As you mentioned, never trust a profile 😉

Usually you see white, olive or two tone camos and we decided he should do a non standard scheme, and the tiger stands out too 🙂
