Marlin
Hi. During the weekend lost of thing has happened with my Russian Mitten. I've got the stencils in place on the ordnance.045 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I think there are around 15 stencils per weapon. And Zvezdas decals performed very well, they are really thin and have shown no silvering. I've got the FOD doors inplace 046 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr047 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr048 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr After that I glued the wings on.049 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Well not quite correct, I first had to move the louvre doors for the secondary inlets from upper wing part to the fuselage. I couldn't get the wings in place with the build sequence Zvezda wants you to use. When the top part of the wings had dried I built up the rest of the wings.050 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've also started to putty and sand some seams.051 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr052 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr The plan for this evening is to contine sanding and puttying, and then some primer..... Marlin
Hi. I'm currently stationed in Tallinn, but I got the weekends off. And this weekend I went home to Upplands Väsby to see the family again. And I actually managed to get some small work done on my Russian Mitten.059 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Some white on the fintip and the radome, and dark grey on the aft antenna. But sunday did come quick and I had to return to Tallinn.060 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Nice weather on the approach to Tallinn Airport yesterday. 061 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And a nice view from my room on the 19th floor of my hotell Radisson Blu Sky. 062 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I got a very nice burger for dinner yesterday. So now I'm set for another two weeks in Tallinn. To be continued..... /Bosse

Marlin
Hi again. My five week long tour in Tallinn has come to an end and now I'm back at my usual workplace. Well not exactly, we've changed office building since I left for Tallinn. So now I'm working inside central Stockholm instead of north of it in the suburbs. Before we moved I could go by car to work in around 20 minuutes, but now I'll have to take the train and the subway for a little bit more than an hour. Not quite the optimal move for my taste, but...... Enough ranting and lets back to the subject. When I got home Friday afternoon I managed to clear coat my Mitten. And Saturday afternoon I started with the decals.063 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr064 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr Saturday turned into Sunday and I continued with the decals.065 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr066 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr067 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And on Sunday afternoon I could matt coat the whole thing.068 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr And I've started to paint the canopy.069 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr You get two canopies in the kit. One with det cord and one without. To the one without you get det cord decals. But they are grey, instead of white. So I painted the det cord white with an acrylic white paint and used a toothpick to apply it. And before the paint had dried I wipe the excess off with a damp tissue. I think it'll do the trick. Marlin
Hi. With a longer commute to and from work my building is suffering. I've lost an hours build time in the early evening, and because of that everything take a bit longer time to do. Yesterday I got the stabilators, main wheel and covers in place.070 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr071 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr I've also got the counter measure pods in place.072 by Bosse Persson, on Flickr They are still gloss coated since there are some small decals left to do on them. Perhaps I'll find the time to fix that this evening. To be continued..... /Bosse
