  1. I'm looking for some markings for Southwest 737 in 1/144 on the current blue/red/yellow scheme. Any suggestions?
  2. Thanks for the assistance, gentlemen. I took some pics of the model in the museum, it had lighter blue markings that were equally proportioned & the blue/white/blue spinner. Seems 'inspired by' rather than strictly accurate. Thanks again.
  3. Interesting! Thanks Giorgio, Graham & Edgar. As always, ambiguity rules discussions of WWII colour. Greg
  4. I noticed while visiting the War Museum in Athens a model of a Hurricane in the typical desert scheme, tropical filter, with Hellenic (blue/white/blue) roundels & fin flashes. There was no serial on the model nor subject photo. Did this scheme exist in real life, or is it 'inspired' by real events? Thanks, Greg
  5. Lots of good information here. But....it's the Republic of Singapore Air Force. Thanks for the tip on the Dragon kit.
  6. Spent most of the past year in Egypt for work, so it's still in the box. Greg
  7. Thanks gentlemen, I agree, they're very interesting aircraft. Now I just need to find a couple of GBU-59 in 1/72. Greg
  8. Thank you gentlemen. They're 'operating' nightly in my neck of the woods - very capable (& unlikely) aircraft.
  9. I'm looking to build this: http://www.802u.com Any kits of the civil or military version of this? Thanks. Greg
  10. The RAF is buying the An-124? The comparison was being made between the size of the (RAF operated) C-17 and the (soon to be RAF operated) Atlas C.1: whilst similar looking, they did not offer the same capabilities. I didn't say 'better'....
  11. Looks similar - just a lot smaller, can carry less cargo, slower, a shorter (unrefuelled) distance. If the Tiger and the NH-90 are anything to go by, it'll be more expensive to buy, own & operate than the C-17. All that aside, it is a lovely, rugged-looking aircraft.
  12. There is a picture of A58-484 CR*C (a VIII) with fitted with four cannon & the wide gun bay blisters. Can't find it though, of course. Greg
  13. Could only repeat what others have said, so I'll just say 'Well done.'
  14. 72 is the number being touted as 'threshold' (please don't buy any less than this) with 100 being 'objective' (we'd really like 100, despite no operational analysis to support that number). Time will tell. Only 14 have been approved by the government as of now.
  15. As requested: Let me know whether these are the right angle for you to decide. As kitted, there are no hints that a B could be on the way unless the upper & lower fuselage sprues were replaced. The bays, hatches & recesses moulded closed (boarding ladder, weapon bays, arresting hook etc) show no sign of being intended to be opened by design or with ease.
  16. Hobbylink Japan. But I don't have to worry about VAT, duties & parcel force where I am.
  17. Cockpit: Upper surface: Canopy framing: Vertical stabs & gear-bay doors: Underside & front gear-bay:
  18. Okay - some from my phone: Burner trunking & MLG bays: Burner: Wheels & turbine details: Intake halves: Canopy: Decal sheet:
  19. Just received my Hasegawa 1/72 F-35A Lightning II (or CTOL JSF). No real surprises in terms of quality - fine surface details, no raised RAM detail. Points of interest: Cockpit tub molded with the upper fuselage. Front landing gear bay molded with lower fuselage. Weapon bays molded closed with seemingly no provision for cutting the doors open. First molding comes with a tinted canopy & EOTS cover. No canopy seam - detail is molded on the canopy interior to interior supplementary framing & is supplemented with three decals. Canopy molded with separate two-piece interior framing. No external stores or pylons, with no skinned over holes for the same. Full length intakes - with four ejector pin marks on each of the outboard intake halves. No detail in the burner trunking. Gear-bay doors have ejector pin marks on their interior. Gear-bay detail is sparse. Pilot kitted with the original (now discarded) helmet that looks like the Master Chief from Halo. Decals provided for instrument panel - some raised detail on the lower IP & consoles. Decals for RAM panels. 18 remove before flight decals provided in two styles. Comes with display stand. Canopy can be posed open or closed. Undercarriage can be posed extended or retracted. All in all, this looks like a quick & easy build.
  20. Looking really nice so far. I have one suggestion, the lower gun aperture for the block hose should have the chamfer inside, not outside as you've depicted it. The 'inside' enables the gun to be traversed and minimises the opening in the wall, while an 'outside' chamfer acts as a shot trap and channels near misses into the aperture. Unless you're working from a specific reference pic, of course! HTH - great work
  21. That looks great. So much work in this & it looks fantastic.
