  1. Really good work on both ships, and the rigging looks just right. Good Work! Geoff
  2. There's a load of pics similar to that, tie fighter and a spitfire, AT-ST and a mk1 tank. Good old photoshop. Couple of daylight pics of the tree camo. Definitely too dark. And my pics are rubbish. But not to worry, I've remembered that I have a tie fighter in the stash. What could be done with that then... Geoff
  3. That looks cool! As for the full flight they look quality together. Good job! Geoff
  4. Yup, that's my kind of bonkers! Love it! Now that could work on an A wing... Or maybe a RN X wing?
  5. Certainly is a good laugh! Sand and spinach, hummmmm. Got me looking for a cheap deal now!
  6. Thanks for the comments gents! Thud, I agree the first looks very dark. I'll try and take some in natural light and see if it improves the image. Pete, nothing in the pipeline at the moment, got a 1/24 Spitfire to sort out first, but these are cheap and easy so may just have to get a couple more to keep my sanity whilst fighting to beast. Maybe an Interceptor in a Luftwaffe BoB scheme? Geoff
  7. That looks Brilliant! The way you've done this and the info in the wip is outstanding. And the photos, really give it a extra dimension! Well well done! Geoff
  8. Thanks gents. Think I ended up using a hammer on the rails Beefy.... I'm going to start on the seascape soon and finish off the rigging, once I find the reel again. Geoff
  9. Well seeing as it was Star Wars day this week, I'll put these two up for display. They're both the Revell (1/144?) Teeny cheep model that I got for a bit of fun painting. Both were painted (attacked may be a better way of putting it) with Vallejo paints and had Lifecolour weathering set washes. First one was done in a RAF Battle of Britain/ USAF Vietnam style camouflage using blu tac sausages. I'm still trying to get my hands on some roundels that would fit this scale just to finish it off. Not the greatest pictures I know but it's a camera on a phone and this was only a bit of fun for me. The other paint job was an attempt at a Russian esq air superiority camouflage. Lost my patience on masking so did some freehand an it really shows. Again it was just a bit of fun and an attempt to ease myself back into painting after 20 years off. Hope you enjoy, I had a lot of fun painting them. Geoff
  10. Hi All, Niko 1/700 HMS Hardy, done as HMS Faulknor. Still working on the Base, will not be using the one here. This for me is more of a test of photoimage to see if I can upload from my phone as I'm far to lazy to put the pictures onto the computer. The kit is spot on for my money, the detail of the resign is very fine. The photoetch is delicate but forgiving to clumsy hands and the wire for the masts is supplied in a good quantity, as it keeps pinging off all over the place! For me the only thing the kit could benifit from would be turned barrels, but I'm not capable of fitting them so no loss to me! Comments and feedback greatly appreciated. Geoff
  11. Seat. Check. Refreshments, Check. And enjoy! Like the choice of subjects. Will be watchin with interest. For me, hairdryers don't mix with models... Geoff
  12. That capstan looks so much better that the kit, as does all the extras you're adding. Fantastic! Geoff
  13. Taking a seat and watching with interest, nice clean work so far! Geoff
  14. Really great work on display Beefy! And lots of hints and tips in the wip! Won't mention the Ensign... Geoff
  15. Cracking! The finish on the torpedo and the weathering is depot on. Really good job. Geoff
  16. Exceptional rigging! Steady hand and good eyesight there. Probably explains why I can't rig to save me life! Great work! Geoff
  17. Hi Joss, 1/700 destroyers are pretty small, somewhere around 5" depending on the class. Few come with photoetch in the kit, apart from resin kits and the IBG mentioned above. But specific etch sets are readily available. The cruisers and battleships are a different matter! Although the part counts and amount of photoetch goes up accordingly... 1/350 destroyers would sound like a good place to start for you, not too small, lower parts count and a good few come with basic etch to bring out the details. Geoff
  18. Hi Joss, what scale are you looking at? 1/350 or 1/700? If you're thinking 1/350 I'd look at one of the Trumpeter Tribal class although they're not 100% accurate. If you're looking at 1/700 then you're really spoilt for choice! The Flyhawk models are beautiful and come with photoetch. I've the Aurora and Naiad in the stash, can't wait to start them! There's the IBG hunt class which build up easily and again come with photoetch or you have the good old Tamiya and Trumpeter range. Really just depends on your taste and budget! Have a butcher's around here and see what people are building and see what catches your eye. Good hunting! Geoff
  19. Need to aquire an old relay. Really good PE work!
  20. Three great subjects, watching with interest, and envy! Geoff
