Following from my last question, does anyone have any suggestions for a first RC aircraft? I have seen good things about the E-Flite Apprentice. Does anyone know this aircraft?
I was a Futaba guy for years but my latest radio is a Spektrum DX8. It's a really good radio. Just check for compatibility between Spektrum stuff. Some of their entry level sets didn't work with mid-pro level stuff.
Have a look on ebay for tx , i recommend spektrum for this and matched with orange rx its on for a winning combination, i bought my other half a cheap 3 channel rtf micro cub , perfect to learn the very basics and is pretty crashworthy,

Does anyone on here fly RC? I am looking at starting and wonder if anyone else already is involved.
I've flown for years too. As above, you will crash, but trying to learn on your own will greatly increase the crashes per flying hour stat and slow you down in the long run. I fly both electric and internal combustion. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
My son flies em and I repair em! We fly electrics - joining a club is a great idea so you can fly with an instructor and gain confidence before going solo.
Thank you everyone for the advice! I have since found a group near me and am now just saving for an aircraft. Does anyone have any ideas for a good first aircraft? I have heard good things about the E-Flite Apprentice.
