Neil Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Who needs a Garden GnomeEverett Aero Maybe one for Neil, save him stuffing all those Tenners under the mattress! You are clearly implying that I have a very small mattres Gary . And the neighbours would just LOVE one of those down our street!
Mike Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 £7,500 for a static Jag isn't bad... If I had the money, I'd be tempted. Sadly, I've not, so I'm not
model_madness Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Not bad at all really considering, however, what do they do with all the stripped parts? Surely they're not reusable on other a/c types. I cry for the Jag.
Gary West Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Not bad at all really considering, however, what do they do with all the stripped parts?Surely they're not reusable on other a/c types. How about sell em to the Omani's as new?
model_madness Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 How about sell em to the Omani's as new? yeah then when the Israelis attack they got an excuse why they lost again!
rdxtnt Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Just out of interest, what is happening to all the RAF Jags. Are they all being scrapped or have some been saved for museums this time, unlike the Phantoms?
wardy_fingers Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 All the last service jags from 6 Sqn were flown into Cosford along with spares to become ground trainers for new techies also parts were stripped by me and a few others at cosford to be fitted onto other airframes in the Airforce, the Gr3a is a totally different beast to the 1's its Avionics suite is by no means least an impressive bit of kit, I've worked on for 5 years and for its age the Avionics is damn good and at least got a +90% serviceability rate, and as its the most modern bit of demobed kit it makes perfect sense to train new techies on them. I'll get my then LoL
Gary West Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 yeah then when the Israelis attack they got an excuse why they lost again! I meant the spares and not the airframes
J35 Draken Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 If I bought it and put the tail, wings and tailplanes back on, could I enter it for the group build?
Bobs_Buckles Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 If I bought it and put the tail, wings and tailplanes back on, could I enter it for the group build? hahahaha You would still loose... not enough weathering dear boy. Bob
