Jabba Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 This is the Sea King ASaC Mk7 that I started as part of the Gulf War GB. I have finished the model as XV650 which was part of 849 NAS operating from HMS Ark Royal during Op Telic. This aircraft collided with XV704 on the 22nd March 2003 killing all on board, which brought a sad mood to the ships company. The model is the Revell Sea King HAS6/AEW kit with a few add ons from the newly released Airfix Sea King. The deflated radome is from Airwaves, with the decals coming from both kits (with the Airfix ones being very good) and the Aviation Workshop Sea King sheet. The rotor folding was done by myself, and although I don't think that I got the angles quite right I am very pleased with the result. Any comments are very welcome.
Doctor Strop Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I kept an eye on your build thread for this one. It has turned out really well. Congratulations Andy
daz greenwood Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 That's really nice. And a great tribute.
Shar2 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Excellent job, and a worthy tribute to the fallen aircrews.

Alan P Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Nice job mate, hopefully see it in the flesh soon! Al
zagenois Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 (edited) good job but avoid the flash why not scratch the fixing system just for realism Edited September 29, 2010 by zagenois
Jabba Posted September 29, 2010 Author Posted September 29, 2010 good job but avoid the flashwhy not scratch the fixing system just for realism I did not do this because when I was on HMS Ark Royal they were never fitted, just the ropes to blades that fold along side the fuselage. Nice job mate, hopefully see it in the flesh soon!Al It has already made it to the last club meeting and Modelfest, but it should be at other shows in the near future including the Nationals.
Windy Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Great model fella, brings back a few memories seeing that aircraft again.
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Very nice Sea King Jabba, my favourite helo.
zagenois Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 ok jab this said your model is superb I know the difficulties whith this scale
Mack5812 Posted November 21, 2010 Posted November 21, 2010 Brought back lots of memories seeing this. The Rugrats were working for my Det in TELIC when I was with the RM. If my mem serves me correctly I think it was Rugrat 35 & 36 that crashed. One had just signed off with me. They worked non-stop for us with the exception of a few days. Nice build mate.
