KiwiSteve Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) Hey chaps here is my latest model 1/48 Hasegawa Bf109G-10 of NSGr 10 in April 1945. The kit wasn't the best I've built with loads of flash and the cockpit detail was lacking from what you'd expect from Hasegawa. Also the box art showed the G-10 with an aerial post but nothing in the instructions, my references showed some late mark G-10 with no aerial mast and the wire running straight from the tail to the back of the canopy, seeing a hasegawa didn't give you the mark number I thought I'd use artistic(lazy) licence. * Kit manufacture: Hasegawa 09771 * Scale: 1/48 * Type: Messerschmitt Bf109G-10 * Extras used: None OOB * Paints and colours used: Xtracrylix and Vallejo Model Air * Other info:I tried Mig productions neutral wash for the first time and was pleased with the results. turnerdad Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Beautiful build. Love the staining on the rear fuselage "box" sections, very 3 dimensional.
CPNGROATS Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Very nice finish/weathering...it looks just like something you might come accross in the spring of 1945... Cheers, ggc
bexwh773 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 The 109 is one of my favourite WW2 Luftwaffe aircraft, and I like this one alot, cracking job Steve Bex
Brian1 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Now that I really like - what a lovely piece of work!
Guest snipersmudge Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 that is one cool looking bird you have there, love the subtle weathering
dswoofie Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Nice job Steve! I've got a Revell G-10 that I'll be doing soon, and have been considering this scheme. I'd pretty much discounted it until now. As I've seen this I might give it a go and have a play with the weathering on it. Lovely finish anyway Karl.
Jon Kunac-Tabinor Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Hiya Steve - good build mate!! looks the part. 109s in 76 overall always look gtreat - but I like the way you've very subtly weathered her. There's a bit of Luftwaffe bent on here at the mom - what with Jen's Dora, your G-10, and my 190. Maybe we need to change the name to Fritzmodeller?? Von Jonners
AndyL Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Now that is really nice. Subtle weathering too, great job Steve.
KiwiSteve Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 I found some references about Bf 109 G-10 White 43 wrk nr. 130369 over at Luftwaffe Experten Message Board and according to the chaps there White 43 wasn't part of NJG-11 but part of NSGr. 10 arr well all so much for Hasegawa's refs. At least I'm sorted for the aerial mast as you can see from the ref pics below, I'll need to attach it ASAP.
