ChocksAway Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Thought I'd have a bit of a change and build something different. I've always been fascinated by this aircraft (who hasn't) and I picked up a cheap kit on fleabay. I then saw the Hasegawa egg plane version and thought - that would make a good pair. So here they are, straight out of the box (though lots of filler required on the Revell version). No research, just done for the fun of it. As usual, brush painted, this time back to acrylics. it may be me, but black aircraft seem to make good vacuum cleaners, they can empty a room of dust onto their surfaces in no time at all. SR-71 - Revell 1/72nd scale ... I need to add the no-step line, but that's going to require some home made decal printing which I shall get around to in due course. Hasegawa Egg Plane - scale unknown (and who cares?) ... Comments welcome (Yes Shar2, I changed my mind, again!).
Dave Fleming Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Nice ones. The SR-71 is a much bigger aircraft than I'd imagined until I built one (in 1/144th)
SaintsPhil Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 If its not a Harrier it might as well be something special and you've nailed that Graham! Top job
DaveJL Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Love the Revell build, nice work. I've a 1/48 Testors beast to tackle soon! Dave
Shar2 Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 This looked great at the club meet last night. It might have been a bugger to build, but you've done a grand job on it Graham.
