Back into it after over 40 years!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Stopped building 1/144 airliners in 1982 after meeting my (ex) wife...Then the usual things, marriage, kids, divorce, new relationship etc.

On the passing of ex wife last year, had to clear out the house out and found all my builds (40), a few kits so as know retired thought I'd start up again!!

Now have a stash of over 40 kits plus some old builds (badly) of my late brother's that are slowly being ressurected

Luckily I have a large Manshed so they can be displayed

One of the latest finished is a Zvezda Tu-154 in S7 colours

Welcome to the site, Duncan. Things have moved on an awful lot in forty years, with modelling techniques and materials for instance.

Luckily you've come to the right place and can absorb all that knowledge from the guys on here. Lie back and enjoy!

G'Day Duncan

Funny how some things get in the blood and stay there.

Doctors keep searching for cures, but some tings aren't meant to be.

That 40 number sounds familiar.

Enjoy the community.

Cheers,

Peter

Forget lying back, he's gonna be too busy, got 40 years to catch up on! 😁

G'day @Duncan Tearle, welcome aboard. As Pete above says, things have moved on a bit. As for retirement, I can highly recommend it, did that two years ago. I'm mainly into model ships now.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your brother and Ex. I guess none of us are immortal so get stuck into that stash! 🙂 Regards, Jeff.
