dogsbody
While looking through the Belgian Wings website, again, ( https://www.belgian-wings.be/nieuwe-paginamilitary-aircraft-1909 ), I noticed that the Fairey Battles and Hawker Hurricanes have 6 individual exhaust pipes. If you look at the shadows of the pipes below the exhausts, you will see what I mean. All the Battles have this, but only a few of the Hurricanes. https://www.belgian-wings.be/fairey-battle-i https://www.belgian-wings.be/hawker-hurricane-i Does anyone have any information on this modification? I've never read anything that mentioned it. Chris
2996 Victor
For some reason I thought the Aeronautique Militaire Battles were licence-built in Belgium and that the exhausts were a local design, but seemingly not. Apparently, they had longer cowlings, though how that worked I don't know. Cheers, Mark

It has been mentioned on here before occasionally, but not with any conclusion. Best guess is they are Belgian made replacements, exhaust pipes burn out and they made aircraft under licence so the facilities were there. Radiator housing/bottom cowling actually, so it might not be quite as noticable.
