F-104 nut
Time to start Buccaneer #2 . Air-scoop also on the kit was a Little short shot so I used a UMM saw to cut the bad section out . Drilled various size holes in the plastic rod and glued on then blended with various Tamiya sanding sponges . Problem fixed Not sure of markings yet ! Thinking og one of the top two schemes . Lord Riot
Very nice, you can’t have too many Buccaneers! Great fix on that air scoop. Your second scheme, camo XW529 I can remember being temporarily based at Woodford in the 80s when the fleet upgrades were done there. Never saw the black and yellow one though.
F-104 nut
Finally decided on the scheme going for the XW529 camo . Going to build this one with the bomb bay opened with 4 x 1000lb bombs . Hole drilled out for the crew ladders . I will also use the slipper fuel tanks . Cockpit parts now ready for paint. Since i mask the cockpit off while paint i find it easier to glue the rear instrument panel to the left side of the cockpit wall instead of gluing it to the seat like instructions call for . I have the quinta studio 3D ejection seat set coming for thre kit seats . Center intake wheel well subassemblies ready for painting . Test fit the fuselage together what a beast of an airframe . Dads203
Very nice work indeed, it’s going together really well 👍 The cockpit is looking superb, just to point out the two round canisters on the rear bulkhead are S6 respirator filters which form part of the crew NBC system should be painted Matt/satin black. F-104 nut
Today on the Blackburn Channel . Got the inboard flaps installed , aileron actuators installed. Got the last strut and wheels assembled . I used the JLC razor saw to cut the kit ejection pull handles off. I glued a small piece of plastic in the place for the quinta studio pull handle mounts . F-104 nut
I decided to go with the Aerocraft 3D Buccaneer seats which look way better then the kit seats . Only thing is they dont have the loaction box on the back to mount on the bulck heads . I used some plstic stock to make some , test fitted and perfect ! Now to make up my mind if I'll use the Aerocraft ejection seat pulls or the Quinta Studio set ejection pulls ? Instrument panel coaming was painted with my own Tamiya mix then drybrush with german gray . Crew ladders assembled and i added a piece pof place for extra brace . Speed brake cleaned up and assembled . I origanlly drilled out the holes for the wing mounted , Looking closely at the markings i chose this plane does not have them so i have to fill the mount holes in . F-104 nut
Busy couple of days on the Buccaneer . Installed the HUD and coaming . The Aerocraft seats was sprayed with mr surfcer 1500 primer . Once dry you can really see the amazing 3D printed detail . Bottom seat frame color was airbrushed and the black was hand painted . Next I'll start painting the cushins . I was pretty sucessful makng my Tamiya mix for the RAF light aircraft grey which was spray on the slipper fuel tanks . Once the bombs are sprayed with clear gloss il atemp to use the kit decals for the yellow band on the nose. Next to get the windsheild cleaned up and ready to glue on .
