RAAF A-20 and Beaufort Mk II (High Planes kits)

Recommended Posts

Looking forward to the Beaufort in particular. I've never touched the High Planes kit (in the end I cracked and tarted up the FROG one) but from what I've seen on the web it seems like a very nice short run kit and I would love to see how it builds.

Regards,

Adrian

A bit of progress last night (advantage of living down under- the 6th was yesterday lol). Soft plastic makes clean up easy BUT also easy to carve new unwanted features if one slips. Just a tad of flash as can be seen by the accumulation of shaved blue plastic. As they say, the first cut is the hardest.

I'd say there's a fair bit of cleanup to go looking at the wings on the top left

Typical of the older High Planes kits, they do scrub up nicely with a bit of TLC.

Watching with interest!

Great project, two of my favourite twins, although the “for experienced modellers only bit counts me out. 🤣

Yeah counts me out too🤣🤣. I’ve come to a bit of a predicament- my compressor isn’t turning on and until I fix it, no painting. It’s a 15cfm industrial one so it might take a bit (and cost a bit) to get it fixed.

oh well. More filing, sanding, filing, sanding. And so on.
