RAF west country, Portreath footage

OK, I tripped over another really interesting video earlier today, and after looking at it a couple of times, I decided to post it. Some very neat and rare footage that I have not seen before, especially Lysanders fitted with smoke marker floats and dinghy packs. I hope you haven't seen this one before.

Strangely, I also saw that today!

 

What interested me was the actual location.  I'd heard of it when researching 302 and 316 Polish sqns for an Arma Mk II Hurricane build earlier this year.    It seems they occasionally were sent to Portreath from Churchstanton in 1941 for a day or 2 to carry out convoy protection patrols.

 

Was nice to put some visuals to a map location, as well as learn about some other activities at the airfield.

 

Just notifying @2996 Victor and @Troy Smith as they helped me at the time I was looking into it.
