I have just got hold of an excellent old book on the He-111 and found some photos

of the aeroplane fitted with Daimler Benz DB 60 1U engines.

I have never seen this before.

It make for a very interesting looking machine.

Definitely an interesting one, it just doesn't look quite right with those cowls though. It's make a great model project if one could find some better photos or even decent drawings. Maybe not be too hard to adapt some Ju88 cowls?

I wonder how much they changed the aerodynamics, looks smart but very different!

This is He111V-32 (He111H-6 modified as He111R prototype) WNr.2122, D-APZD modified by Weser firma Bremen end of 1941. It is fitted with two DB601U and TK 9 turbo supercharger with 3 blade VDM propellers.
