seanrgb
This time this is the bog tandard version of the Challenger 2 MBT Yet again this is a Airfix 1/35 which is just basically a Trumpeter kit in an Airfix box this was painted in Humbrol enamels the Airbrushing was Freehand and weathered with pastels
Skii
Hey I built this one too ! I never realised Airfix re-boxed the 1/35 Trumpeter kit, its a nice kit apart from the really fiddly assemblies like the mantlet laser rangefinder and turret rear. Lovely build Sean, lovely paintwork too. John

Skii
Nice job! I've got one of these (well, a Trumpy Op. Telic Chally II to be precise) in my stash. I've heard that the tracks are too short. Did you have any problems, Sean?Cheers, Chris. Hi chris I built the same version as Sean years ago but converted it using Accurate Armours Challenger 1 sideskirts and scratchbuilt details, the tracks seemed a little tight but it isn't a problem as with the side armour and sand skirts on there is very little track on view. That turret rear is a bloody pain though ! John
seanrgb
And the wheels are all in the wrong place i had to move them about slightly The tracks were ok but as John said you dont see much of them the kit it self is a bit crappy , but for £11 I can't moan better than paying £30 plus for the tammy kit
Mike
You're good at this tank malarky, ain't you Sean?
seanrgb
Not really When I get a bit bored with planes I do some of these Then I torture myself with 1/12 scale cars Then go back on the planes Good thing about Tanks is there easy to build But beware of the Rivit counters on the Armour forums

I went thru a phase of building armour, then cars, which then migrated to Sci-fi, figure modelling & then noting. It really didn't suit me not doing anything creative, but I suppose my energy was being channelled into making my house habitable (Just call me Reg DIY )
JosephLalor
Looks very nice indeed. Did you mix the paints? Looks like 86 and 33 to me. Joseph
Graham T
I went through an armour buiulding stage a few years back. If you can afford them, the Accurate Armour resin kits of Brit armour are superb. I once built their 1/35 Scammell Commander with trailer & slung a Tamiya Challenger on the back - that's one impressive (& expensive!) model (the kit even includes a pair scale of etched metal heavy duty gloves!)
