  1. Cheers for the kind words! (Wasn't expecting it in such an old thread... ) I was sort of aware that Humbrol 30 wasn't quite right, but didn't remember that until after I'd painted it! The photos do actually make it look more green than it really is, so I'm not too bothered! Dan
  2. Thanks benjinben91, they were part of an Xtradecal set from Hannants. Cheers Tin_Bitz. Um, I think it was about 9 months start to finish, but then my modelling pace is somewhat glacial Dan
  3. That looks great! I've got one of these I'm looking forward to making. Dan
  4. Very nice! I like the effect on the photos as well. I've got a bunch of these waiting to be built. I think I'll have to invest in some new decals... Dan
  5. Hi nickaroo A lot of folks (myself included) use Klear (/Future) floor polish as a gloss coat before decalling. It can be mixed with an acrylic matt varnish (I use Tamiya's) to go over the model again after decalling to reduce the shine. The good news is that it can be easily brush-painted as well as airbrushed. The bad news is that it has been discontinued (and the replacement isn't as good), though it can still be found, and there are several similar alternatives (Quickshine) which have been the subject of discussion here, but I haven't used those so can't comment. Have a look through this section of the forum - there are plenty of threads about it Dan
  6. Off the top of my head, the models in my stash that fit the bill are: 1/72 Chematic (ex-Frog) S6B 1/72 Airfix B-29 1/72 Airfix Halifax 1/72 Airfix Gladiator I've made a tiny start of the B-29, and I think I'll be saving that for a lengthier AMS build. The others though... I have a feeling it'll be the Gladiator. Oh what am I doing!? Dan
  7. There was a build a little while ago that involved shooting the model with an air rifle to achieve flak damage: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...mp;#entry752610 Not sure if that's to inspire you or scare you off... Dan
  8. I've got a few in the stash that will fit the bill; count me in :-) Dan
  9. Ooh lovely. That first one is stunning! Dan
  10. Thanks I'm looking forward to Flying Legends and a longer lens to play with! Dan
  11. Thanks folks HOUSTON, there are plenty more on my Flickr account linked in my first post (or here) Dan
  12. I've been going through my stash of untouched photos and pruning/editing/uploading. These are from the Duxford Airshow last September - some here to whet your appetite and the rest over on Flickr. Comments and criticism very welcome. I'm a tad disappointed at the general softness of a lot of them, and I haven't quite got my panning right yet, but overall I'm pretty happy with them Thanks for looking Dan IMG_0656 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr IMG_0698 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr IMG_0729 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr IMG_0795 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr IMG_0857 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr IMG_0927 by spitfire23bc, on Flickr
  13. Language! I wish I could get to one of them; it looks brilliant!
  14. No problem; glad to be of assistance Thanks for the kind words. There are quite a few bits on mine that look like it was build by a hamfisted oaf, but the photos show the good bits! Dan
