I have the details and scale that shows some P-47N cockpit pics. However, this is a late machine. Any ww2 period pics or drawings out there? Also the colour for the N seems to be cockpit green rather than republic green?
tryingv to alter kit parts rather than go aftermarket.
Any help appreciated

I am looking to do an early Zero from the Academy kit , possibly from the Midway period and wondered what the current thinking is around colours for these 1941/42 aircraft.
I have heard of an amber grey?
Also, I understand there were paint detail differences between early Mitsibushi and Nakajima built machines at the early stage. For example did Mitsubushi machines have Otaka or amber- grey wheel wells.
Any info and especially model paint suggestions welcome
My research tells me that the earlier bow turrets used on the Privateer prior to the Erco ball turret, was actually the Motor Products MPC turret and not the Consolidated as used often on the B24J. Does anyone know of a kit that include this tlMPC turret I can rob?
Incidentally, the Revell reboxing of the Matchbox kit, includes great decals for a machine, that actually had this turret.
Cheers
Hi
Does anyone have an original period pic of this Black Cat PBY or indeed any info? I have the Yellowhammer sheer that shows some unusual features and I would like to check these out. The machine is shown with red surround national insignia, eye ball turret. Di it have the radar bullet as that seems a post 43 feature.
Any help appreciated.

Great job. I have some of these with resin intakes and a recently acquired B1 Conversion. TheAfix kit is far super and should be, but it does not make this one obsolete. It's about the model, not the kit.
Well done
Lol fair enough- dont blamecyou. I will see where it takes me. The Airfix kit is too nice to cut up, but as the set was gifted, I may "try" with a sacrificial Matchbox kit.
Cheers
I know this is a bit couter intuitive. I have acquired the Flightpath Victor B1 conversion. It Is for the Airfix kit but was based on the original for the Matchbox kit. Has anyone tried using this revised conversion on the Matchbox? Does it still work? I would prefer to use the older kit I have In stock and preserve my Airfix B2
I assumed the mount would be universal so agreed l. It seems the Lewis was used in the middle and far east until 40/41.
I have only seen Lewis guns on Wellesleys. Quite distinctive. They were used on some Lysanders and Blenheims until at least 38.
