Fozzy Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) Hi all I decided to give myself a break from Scratch building and 2 year projects with this............... Straight out of the box 1;32 scale Academy Nieuport 17.........I have to say I havn't done a OOB for years and I found it strange that I could finish it this .....year! ......the only problem I had was the awfull Academy decals....just wouldn't sit still on the plane...even with the tough arm of Micro sol and set!!so the tail flash I had to paint on! The only scratch built parts on this model I did was the rear view mirror......oh and some of the cockpit parts!....the rigging was done with Fishing wire. Here are the photos....hope you like it. Nobby Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Hi Foz! Yes I'm still here mate and finally caught up with your breathtaking Spit! Been hard to get on the net as the pooter decided to give up the ghost and died on me! Got a smart phone though now so I can look at your Spit in glorious detail. Zoom function on these things is amazing! Which brings me round to your model. Close up I could be fooled into thinking its the real deal ...it's that good! The only thing that gives the game away is the lighting. I followed the build as far as I could, but the pooter died! Anyway mate...just to say its a brilliant build and as good as the one in the Hendon museum if not better in some respects. Now...what's all this about out of the box builds and F14's?
crookedmouth Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Nicely done mate. The cockpit details are pretty impressive, but the dope and metal finish is just lovely - clean and even. Sorry I missed this when you first posted it - it's hard to keep track of all the fantastic builds that are going on at the momen.
