Turecki Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hi all On days I will start my new OH-58D project...and just need to find paints to have all I am looking for Model Master Acryl 4723 ...only site what I found was Testors site with shipping from US... Maybe you know any other place to order MM Acryl paints ??... Best regards Artur "Turecki" Pucyk
little-cars Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Can't see that colour on the equivalence charts I have. As far as I know no one stocks them in the UK, probably because they have not been tested for safety. Creative models were due to start stocking Testors enamels in Feb, but are still not showing any stocks. Might be worth droping them a line in case they are going to be stocking them.
Gundylunch Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 What's the actual colour ??, may be able to help from my own stock of other acyrilic paints !
Mike Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 If you can get a name or FS number for the color, this might help clicky
John Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 If it's 1/34031 Helo Drab, Xtracolor do it: http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=X153 John
Turecki Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Yest it is Helo Drab...and very specyfic...this at Testors site it seems to be perfectly matched...I have tried put to convertion scheme and only one record shown...and Xtracolor like you said John but do you think will be exactly this same ?? In name of color is AIRCRAFT GREEN CAMO...I would like avoid green in this color to be more setup on this drab like Testors one Edited March 10, 2010 by Turecki
Mike Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 White Ensign Models do a US Helo Drab here If that page doesn't display, search under "helo drab". HTH
Turecki Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 I have never been used before White Ensign Models Paints ...how they working with aero...any experience gentelmen ??
Mike Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 WEM are well known for their color fidelity (accuracy), and they work like any other enamel paint with a paint brush or airbrush... longer drying times than acrylic, but more robust once fully cured (In case I'm giving the wrong impression, I'm an acrylic user, but will use Enamels when I can't meet my color requirements any other way).
Turecki Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Thank you Mike I am acrylic painting liker too but..how you said no other option if color need to be properly...ok I will try WEM ... Thank you all for advices ...start of project very soon ... Best regards
Greg B Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 The Apache I built for the group build had paint mixing instructions of 30% Black added to Olive Drab. It looks about right to my eyes, especially after a matt coat of varnish, however the real things are multitonal in appearence due to fading, dirt and the paint actually looking different in differing lights/angles.
TonyT Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Mike uses Acrylics? wow, I always thought he used emulsion Can you not just order one off evil Bay from the US ? Their chart is here BTW http://www.qualityhobbyshop.com/images/TES04600.png These people are supposed to be bringing it in http://www.creativemodels.net/index.php?ma...=3a&page=10 but when you check each bottle stock level it says This product will be in stock on Wednesday 01 January, 2020. Bit of a wait that LOL, Give them a call. Edited March 10, 2010 by TonyT

Wild Weasel Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 You could try these guys...... WWW.rcprocenter.com I've ordered many different colours from them over the last couple of years. Never had any issues with their delivery service (last lot took 11 days to arrive) And their prices seem fair, considering they are in the States............. Hope this is of some help
