Obi-Jiff Kenobi Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Lovely photo. Thanks for posting. Obi-Jiff
denstore Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Great picture! You wouldn't possibly have it in higher resolution?
stevehnz Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Neat pic, thanks Phil. At risk of sounding a bet wet, I reckon British Naval deisgn of this era produced some of the best looking & best proportioned designs of any nation. KGVs, Town class cruisers, Battle class destroyers & similar, lovely looking vessels all. That pic of the KGV is as good as I've seen though for capturing its "best" side. Steve.
XL929 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Fantastic photo, if it was any bigger I'd have it as my desktop!
Phil Reeder Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) I`ve tried to enlarge the pic ,but without success, sorry. This was taken in Nova Scotia,I think she must have on a"work-up" cruise, and she must have been though some rough weather,as the orginal Dazzle pattern camo is showing though ,on the hull.,thats what I call weathering! sorry again ,Phil Edited March 10, 2010 by Phil Reeder
Phil Reeder Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 "...Is this a colourised print.." No, it`s the real McCoy,it was among a large collection of wartime colour photos recently discovered in a Canadian museum.I`ve posted a couple of others of a Canadian Corvette and Frigate on BM. cheers Phil
Phil Reeder Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Found another one ,it`s not as good as the first, but it would make an interesting diorama.Photo taken 10 April1942 Phil Edited March 10, 2010 by Phil Reeder
