Typhoon in 80th anniversary of D Day tribute paint scheme
Bozothenutter replied to Craig G's topic in Real Aviation
Not really impressed, seems like a rehash of the BoB scheme to me. -

The radio panel seems closest to the Magnavox C-9533 control panel, but the upper half is different. The hole above it was filled with the weapons panel. The small square panel next to the radio is an ATC transponder. the next panel seems to have stuff like 'anti ice' and some fuel switches on it. the last panel seems fuel related as well.

apparently the 1981 version was fitted with a 'Stanley-Yankee' system.

Looking for help with C-130 parts.

Sometimes simple is better.. C-130 checked 1/72, and detail and conversion sets. Then I looked at everything with more than 4 blades.... -

Oops....I didn't count....🫣 -
As with any kit of that era, check all shapes etc, looks like the design brief was " a Mirage with a pointy nose, and a different exhaust "

Have a pic: But I'm wondering what the lower row of switchplates is. lower left seems to be a radio, then a transponder, then a ???? a fuel panel? The lower panel, another radio? then a bunch of switches? are these standard panels? Any idea where the throttle and stick came from? I'm winging an IP for the Cavalier Turbo Mustang III in CAD, so any sizing info would help.

From that pic, it looks like the 'V' is hollow, probably to prevent sink marks.

That's what the Israelis wanted, they didn't need radar.

The Israelis 'built' their own Neshers, which later turned up in South America with Dassault type plates and serials.....🤫

A month later, and no shipping notice from MBK....must have been an advance copy then. Anyone received theirs yet from any source? -

There was a thread on here with a link to official Armée de l'air documentation. I believe the thread was related to the 2000, but my Google-fu has left the building..... -

Ooohh! Cool! Loved the look of the kit, but not that bothered about Flankers. Minibase really seem to be pushing the limits on injected styrene. What was it like to build?

Careful with that, some allergens are cumulative, and once triggered are permanent.

Being aviation, there no doubt is such a thing. I'm looking for dimensions basically, like for cars, there is DIN, 2DIN etc. Is there such a thing for aviation, and what is it called?

Yeah sure, but how do you know they used those, or weren't used anyway? Assumption is the mother of fisheyes.... -

Problem with paint adhesion on resin parts
Bozothenutter replied to Richard502's topic in General Maritime modelling chat
Resin needs thorough cleaning because of the mould release agents, a bit of sanding helps too. Then a primer, with resin I'd go for a 'hot' primer, laquer based.
