I'm not a Mod for this GB, but I'm pretty certain you can join whenever you want! Looks like a lovely build to do, good luck with it!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys I've been working on the bulkhead between the office and the navigators station I have decided that this build must be something special and seeing as I have up to November to finish it up I will try and do it to the very best of my very limited modeling capabilities will post pics in the morning or late afternoon depending on what the working day bring.

ooh I love the subject choice my friend! I've always wondered what the Academy Cats are like as my dad has often pestered me to build one. Will be watching with interest :)

Hi guys well Ive made some leeway on the bulkhead behind the cockpit as it is devoid of any detail whatsoever as I said I've been rushing during the previous group build and would like to do this one to a standard that I Usually build to.Row so far I have seen that the front wheel well is a problem as even with the kit part the bulkkhead door is halved by it I will remedy this by making it a bit shallower and making my own cabin floor out of plastic stock as the kit floor is simply devoid of any detail whatsoever. The kit pilot and co-pilot seats is also unuseable (they look like price and pride sofa's).Will keep you guys posted as I go along but I fear that for today not much will happen as I need to go grocery (and supply) shopping.

Kit bulkhead:

As you can see it is nothing but a piece of plastic with a doorlike indentation.

Door cut out:

This is where I am now and I am not yet done:

100_1219.jpg

A bit closer, sorry about the flash still getting used to the camera:

I did the bottom ribbing in brass rod so that the floor that will be made a bit later will have adequate place to grip on.The plastic sheet is very and I mean very thin, so much so that it almost melt away when applying glue this add to the scale effect that I am after. Will start on the rear of the bulkhead and also the floor if time permit this afternoon.

Thanks mish busy doing the floor and seat frames now not enough progress for a picky though.

ok, so it looks like a bit of work is needed to the interior to add some detail. could be a fun project :)

There's a lot of scope for interior scratchbuilding with those huge 'bay windows'. I look forward to this. I always wanted to have a ride in a Cat, one of my favourites

O.k so Ive finished cutting all the "components" I'll be using and also glued on some of the stuffThe final count part on the cockpit numbers 108.The small size of the darn thing makes the photography a bear but did my best to get some that at least show a bit:

The size:

Some closeup shots:

everything is plastic sheet copper tubing and coffee tin lid(I dont use lead foil).Hoping to have the right hand side mirror the left. Here's hoping that you guys can at least make out some details on account of my non existing photography skills.

Can anyone PLEASE give me a crash tutorial in how to use the 9MP Kodak Easy Share c913 digicam causeno matter what I do my pics comes out CRAP!

Well enough with the bitchin, moaning and groaning the pit is now almost done need to punch out the IP and add some wiring, will hopefully still get round to starting on the rear ofthe bulkheadby tonight.

Will post more pics as soon as I get something that resembles a decent shot.

Lots of work going into the Cockpit, nice one!

As for the photos, the only thing I'd suggest is turn off the flash ( assuming there's enough light in the room ) and if the camera has a Macro mode, turn it on, for the close-ups. Apart from that, if it's in some sort of Automatic mode, it should take care of everything else!

O.K so my eyes are busy getting sore and I decided to leave the IP up untill the morning started playing with the camera though and got two shots that kind of resemble decent photo's (to my eye anyway).

Thanks for the advice jason I ended up adjusting the exposure and it works a bit.Anyway here is the pit minus the controlls and IP.Let me know what you think and if you notice something that need adding let me know and I'll look into it.

Thanks a lot guys.I have just finished up on the pit and after adding some more very small and probably indecernable bits the part count has shot up to 130(I think I should stop now, damn squadron books! )I am about to start on the rear side of the bulkhead now and should have that finished in about a hour and a half if everything goes to plan. Will post pictures soon thanks for following the thread and giving input.

Just aquick question before getting too far along:was the cats moored up or mostly land bound.I know that for now it doesn't make a lot of sense but it will influence the weathering when getting to it.Thanks for replying in advange.

O.k so nothing went to plan and didnt do a lot for today yet(is there any reason for CA's drying process to get retarded It is relatively cold here will that have a influence)

Well some shots of the little progress up to now:

The IP:
