Calum
Does anyone know if this aircraft has ever been done in decals in 1/48? My Google FU is poor so thanks in advance. It's flown by Pilot Officer WH “Hugh” Dean RNZAF, in India 1943 More detail here

No, because the nose art image is it. No serial, no letter, not even the Hurricane mark is really discernable. So unless a pic turns, or the pilots logbook exists and has info... The link suggest a IIC, but I can't see any cannon barrel so more likely IIB though. HTH
Graham Boak
The fairing between the wing and the cowling tells me that it is a Mk.II.

Geoffrey Sinclair
Dean joined 135 squadron when it formed in August 1941 in Britain, it would fly Hurricane IIB in India from February 1942 to October 1943 but Dean seems to have been posted independently to the Middle East then onto 135 Squadron, commissioned in March 1943 according to the March 1943 squadron summary. The squadron lost multiple aircraft on 31 March 1943.
