  1. Well, I finally got this kit....my god, this thing is massive. Also, absolute value for money - the box is packed with sprues! I'll post pictures when I can. 1
  2. That looks great! Are these decals from the Furball Aero sheet, by the way? I've been really wanting to find those markings in 1/72.
  3. That looks great for a beginner! And hopefully the chemo is a thing of the past too.
  4. It seems a tad bit tall from the photos. I had never noticed it before until you pointed it out though. Speaking of the Hobbyboss item, so now that we've established that the slats are molded on to the wing, would this be rectified by cutting the slat pieces off from the top and bottom wings, gluing them together, then adding a piece of plastic card on the wing to represent the bit under the flaps (sorry, not sure what those bits are called)?
  5. Oh! I finished it a few months ago, but I promptly damaged the pitot tube :(. I'll fix it and put some pics up.
  6. Same here. I built the MiG-15 and I enjoyed it thoroughly. This one looks just as fun!
  7. Well the MiG-17 and Bucc are coming out in 1/72, so my wish list has been adjusted to: 1/72 Vulcan 1/72 Sea Vixen 1/72 Mig-19 1/72 Javelin 1/72 SA Pioneer
  8. It looks fantastic! What was the deal with the white spot over the cockpit, by the way?
  9. Uh, sure, I'll take part. Love the map by the way.
  10. We could totally do trains! Trains, trucks, cargo ships, lorries..... absolutely! Glad to hear there's still interest in this group.
  11. Hi Andre, I was wondering if the paint had a tendency to fade or if they were simply faded. And from Giorgio's response, it looks like I have a complete history of the paint scheme! It looks like I am looking at an early scheme with ANA 633 then, as this is the exact kit and markings I'm doing: Thanks for the clarification Giorgio!
  12. Hello everyone, I'm about to start the AMT QF-104 kit when I noticed that there appeared to be two paint schemes for the QF's - one being fluorescent orange, and seems to be applied unevenly so there are lighter "patches" througout, and what appears to be "regular" orange colour, which is more uniform. Am I correct on that? What accounted for the patchy fluorescent paint (I assume they wanted it close enough since it was getting blown up anyway), and were the regular orange ones for a different use?
  13. Hello everyone, Does anyone happen to have detailed drawings/photos of the Python 3 adapter plyons mounted on Israeli F-15s? I'd like to scratchbuild some, and Google has failed me.
  14. The question is would the rule be that the conversion had to be put into production, or at least prototype phase? A C-97, while not an executive transport, started out as the B-29 so that could apply. What did you have in mind?
  15. Yikes, I didn't expect this much feedback! I was wondering about trains too, but trains could haul cargo, or people (or circus animals). Therefore, maybe the rule would be "vehicles designed for the express purpose of transporting cargo?"
  16. Has there been discussion of a transport/cargo group build? This could encompass everything from transport aircraft (military and civilian), cargo ships and trucks.
  17. And that's the thing. I looked on Scalemates, but I'm convinced I saw a 1/72 Chieftian being discussed for future release, but I can't recall where. It might just be a rumor, but since I can't find that post/thread/discussion again, I might just be losing my mind. Thanks for confirming guys!
  18. So I'm guessing this is an oft-discussed topic, but I couldn't find a thread using the search (somebody smack me if I did it wrong), but other than Cromwell, does anyone do a 1/72 Chieftian? I could have sworn I heard a rumour that ModelCollect was on to it. I'm surprised there isn't a modern kit of it out there.
  19. Hi Rene, thanks. I will have to check it out!
  20. It's been two years since anyone posted to this, but has anyone been to Guangzhou lately? I'm staying at the Marriott/China Hotel on the corner of Liuhia and Jiefang Road and I was hoping to find a hobby shop or toy shop that sold models. Hoping to snag the new Trumpeter J-31 kits while I'm out here.
  21. Luckymodel. They say they're out of stock though, I'm not sure if they're backordered or if they haven't gotten them yet.
  22. Well, I've got them ordered. I'll put up some sprue pics when they show up at my door.
  23. I can't wait. I may wind up getting three just to do all three schemes!
