  1. So... CONCLUSIONS: 1) The "expert" voices here are irrelevant for a legacy brand like Italeri in the larger scheme of things. 2) The "real" complain are high prices compared to other better "quality" brands. 3) There are now waaaay better kits in the market than Italeri's. 4) There are biased (paid) commentators in different forums praising or ignoring bad quality kits. (Using the very same logic, "experts" can be also paid to trash a kit here and in other platforms). THEN THE QUESTIONS: Why not move on if there is cheaper/better kit manufacturer in the market? Why bother criticizing a Vintage or old kits from a Company like Italeri? Why trashing brands like Italeri, Revell, Heller and stay quiet about Japanese and Eastern European brands? (Yes, they have really terrible kits and accessories too, and they sell them like gold and are 100% crap). Are those "experts" also paid to critic western European brands? Mmmm...Suspicious, right?
  2. I just read the article on the latest INFO from Eduard. I am speechless. Violation of IP is serious felony we all have to be against of. Sad how ambition can destroy decades of work. Reference: https://info.eduard.com/en/04-2024-1/1-72nd-scale-model-kit-l-410-turbolet-by-gavia-and-kp- https://info.eduard.com/en/04-2024-1/page-36
  3. It is the average Joe who basically still keeps this industry (and hobby) alive. Thanks to all the Joe's sheds and attics full of unbuilt plastic in the hundreds and the thousands of kits in his home, Italeri, and other manufacturers make some money. Bless him.
  4. OK, OK, but you have any proof KP/AZ already did that? Come on, share it with us....Are you an EU IP lawyer? Or is it just your opinion?
  5. Wow...If you are talking about this obviously you have real hard information and evidence, right? Share it with us, please... What is wrong with improving a plastic model aircraft? Is it illegal? I thought the manufacturer of the real thing was the legitimate owner of its designs.
  6. Honest reviews here? I only read if they show pictures of the real thing compared to the model and cite book and blueprint references. 99% of "honest reviews" have non of that. We need evidence, otherwise is 100% "Look, I am THE expert" kind of comment. Regarding prices in the US, it's another clue how many modellers are buying aircraft models. Not only Italeri, but a lot of European stuff is really expensive now. Some items it is cheaper to buy directly from Europe.
  7. Maybe there is "new" demand from Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Gundam, Warhammer and some armor. There is also new car enthusiasts...but Definitely NOT aircraft. If there is "thousands of people" entering the hobby, Why the kit prices are so high? Why companies don't produce 100K-kit editions every year anymore? The 1/32 Lancaster was a small batch production, Why? Italeri as any other company is selling what they have to offer and is up to the modeller to buy. That is called free market. The market will punish or reward companies. After 62 years, Italeri is still in business. Why?
  8. The usual minority speaking out...Again. 🤣🤣 I repeat, we don't care the usual "Italeri is (place here your frustration)" comment. It is the same with Airfix, Heller, Revell and other legacy brands. Advice, don't buy from them. Move on. Thanks for the information, really appreciate it, but you are not their market. We have fun with nostalgia and some interesting models with fresh decals NOBODY ELSE produces. Do they have some bad models, decals, prices? Of course, just like the other expensive brands you cheer. The difference is we keep our "professional" comments for ourselves. Here we're having fun with Italeri news and releases. Like the old days. Oh, and yes, THIS IS a dying hobby. Just attend a US IPMS National Convention and see for yourselves. Avoid denying reality.
  9. We all know there are "better/newer" models than older kits. I don't find any service on telling me of other options in a threat focused on new releases from Italeri. Here, We all obviously have access to Internet and Scalemates. Thanks. Like it or not, there is a lot of amateur modellers that like Italeri, Revell, Heller or Airfix kits because they are commercially available, most of the times they are a cheaper option and in many ways they provide nostalgia with fresh nice decals. Don't spoil the fun. Be positive in this dying hobby of ours.
  10. Hopefully I won't be paying for "extra parts" nobody will see and I will never use. I don't know why we think on "Quality" terms to have 500 pieces to assemble in a 1/72 model. For me that is a waste of resources and time.
  11. Well...Actually I don't care as long as they have the version correct. I have made huge mistakes myself misidentifying Bosnian War insignias thinking they were from the Baltic States in the aftermath of WWI.
  12. And let's keep it like that. This is about Revell new releases for 2024.
  13. Congrats on another classic build. I have that kit, but I always thought it was 1/48. Nice kit...for 1964.
  14. Many modellers enjoy Revell, Heller, Airfix and Italeri kits and some people (the "expert" minority) criticize those companies as if their lives depended on their accuracy and price...For them only Eduard, Tamiya and Arma are allowed to be "enjoyable". So the "enjoyment" and "pleasure" of building models is as relative as snake oil seller honesty.
  15. 😂 Don´t be so severe with the finance experts and business valuation CPAs of this key industry.
  16. 100% agree. There is lots of people pretending to be "experts" in finance and business valuation writing whatever they think they know about the industry always citing "a friend of a friend told me" rumours. Remember this is the Rumourmonger 😉. For some reason it's called that way here.
  17. In Europe, truck and car models are their main sales. That is why you see them in first in their 2024 catalog.
  18. I've already accepted the fact there is more volume sales (financially sound) on Science Fiction, Fantasy, Cars, Trucks and Movie Themed subjects than in military aircraft. Just look at other "big money makers" in the industry: Tamiya, Bandai, Italeri, Warhammer... The 1/48 Tomcat is good sales business for Revell since 1986 (Top Gun) to prove my point. Military aircraft is now financially...."niche". I am also VERY glad to see Revell released their very nice Ar-140 and BV 222.
  19. Well, I am glad they will release the Classic Monogram Do-335 Pfeil. I already have one and gladly will buy another one.
  20. Yep. No that many "big guys" left in the business, only small cottage industry.
  21. Is my understanding it is not all. They sold 1950's and early 60s Revell stuff. Some Monogram,
