  1. Dear fellow modellers, I would like to show you two models I finished last year. They are interesting parts of British Aviation history. The SR.53 was a Project combining jet Propulsion with a rocket Motor to bring the Aircraft quickly to a high altitude. The model Shows the Aircraft as it was during the first flights in 1957, when there was no armament. Later the SR.53 was equipped with some colourful rocket mock ups. As a matter of fact I built the old Airfix kit in the early 70s and I was happy to see this type produced as a contemporary kit, but... The kit is from AZ model and it is kinda disappointing concerning Overall fit and Details. I really expected more from a modern kit. So a lot of filling, sanding and rescribing was involved. I replaced the pitot tube and added a sensor to it. The smaller Aircraft is just for comparison reasons. It is a part of a bigger Anigrand kit, if I remember correctly, of the Short Belfast kit. Being in 1/144 scale, it has only a few parts. The SR.177 only existed as a mock up. So this is a model of a model. hope You like it! cheers, Norbert
  2. The Outcome of just a "fun build" is excellent! An interesting piece of Aviation history, too.
  3. What a nice idea! It really is a very decorative piece of art. could You please Show us Pictures of the other side and how you fastened the model? regards, Norbert
  4. Despite the bright Colours this model does not look like a toy at all. You have done a great Job with the weathering, exhaust stains and the used look!
  5. nice Little Jet! The F-5A was the first kit I ever built back in the early 70s. I liked the sleek appearance and it was the time Airfix kits were available everywhere and affordable with the pocket Money. So nice to see this one!
  6. Thank You all for the nice comments! The nickname "Salmon Thirty salmon" was unknown to me before, Were does it come from? What is the Story behind that Name? (by the way...if one of you native english Speakers discover some clumsy german english Grammar construction, please let me know. I am Always trying to improve my english!) Some capital letters are thrown in by the writing Programme.....
  7. The window decal is from PAS-decals, but Gerd Lehmann's (Authentic Decals) are better.
  8. Hi Ian, glad you like it. I don`t remember who produced the first set of decals I bought, but I am sure it was not Gio. I bought the (also new) kit of the -200 from Eastern Express in Pan Am Livery, so I think, I will start that one. Or finish the 757 (Authentic Airliner) or Viscount (several) or work on the almost finished 777 JAS in 1/200. Or F-4s in 72 scale. My field of interest is big, which can be distracting…. cheers, Norbert
  9. The N792AS was marked this way from 01.10. 2005 up to the end of 2010. The eyebrow Windows were removed around the end of 2008. So the model depicts the Aircraft between 2005 and 2008. The numbers above the Cockpit had to be added using spares. The Cockpit window decals are from Pas-Decals. Norbert
  10. The original kit is made by Eastern Express, from which I only used the decals. The plastic is from Daco / Skyline. The pitot tubes are made of PE parts, also from Daco. To test the decals, I cut the left side into four parts to minimize Problems, which was a good idea. They behaved well, so on the other side, I only cut away the small part underneath the fuselage.
  11. Hi Folks, here is my next finished model, a Boeing 737-400, decorated as a flying fish, a Salmon.
  12. There are two fifferent types of Propellers in the AA kit. I will use them for the S&M kit. You are Right, the S&M Propellers are way too thick!
  13. Not only the model looks perfect, but the Little scene you created makes it a real masterpiece! Something to learn from… The kit is also in my stash, waiting to touch superglue. When it will be finished, I will use the spare Propellers for the S&M kit. So many plans...
  14. I like the Cockpit Details! I built the Revell 1/32 kit a couple years ago, Beautiful early Jet!
  15. Hello, fellow modellers, my Name is Norbert, I am from Germany. One of my favourite modelling subjects are airliners. Here is my latest build, not really an airliner, but close! This Aircraft is used by the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations. I bought the kit couple of years ago from a fellow modeller. it included the kit decals made by pas decals and an extra set by Eastern Express. I selected this scheme as the others were either boring or not correct when compared to photos. RusAir produces resin kits of Russian Aircraft. The fuselages are not solid but made out of two halves. That makes the kits not as heavy as other resin kits. As the decals were not designed for this kit, they did not fit completely, sp some brush work had to be done and some compromises hade to be made. I used Tamiya White X-2 for the fuselage upper side and Revell for the underside and the wings. The leading edges and engine parts have been airbrushed with MIG metal Colours. The Yak-42 used by MchS has more antennaes than the airliners. These had to be added by Scratch, off Course. Hope You like the Little three-engine Jet! Cheers, Norbert
  16. Even rarer than the ONE original? Andy, you are an expert in finding rare kits! Can`t wait to see it finished!
  17. That is the one (and only) Kawasaki EC-1, an ECM Version of the Transport C-1.
  18. Great Fotos, Andy! Thanks for sharing them with us! They inspire me to finish the 144 scale F-4EJ Kai I bought from F-toy. Still not familiar with the tool for uploading Pictures....
  19. Is this kit available meanwhile? Has anybody started it? The Quality of recent EE kits has improved, hasn`t it?
