  1. this is the new base with added rocks and rags. I'm planning to add some flock of grass here and there, than i'll move on finally to dusting the tank. I think it catches
  2. well my idea was actually to have it slide in the water and almost gently stop it against the bank, i mean those banks are not that big and a plane should already be quite slow to stop against it without destroying itself or the bank. Still, today just arrived a couple of bags of green grass, i'm planning to pour it over the first layer of green flocking. after that i'll rework a little more the mud too,so there's still room to make things better ( or worse ) i'll add some pictures once i've added the grass.
  3. if i'm not wrong colors were Tamiya XF-60 as the main color and Tamiya Xf-52 for the camouflage pattern
  4. ok, here's the new setup i've made for the thing. obviously the soldiers are still to be painted and the tank is still to be dusted, there are still details to add like grass and rags and rocks, there's tape on the frame and so on, but the pictures are just to give an idea of the new setup ): some details have been modified on the figures in order to make them look more like the ones in the picture i used as a reference ( i've added a jacket and a beret to the captain, ive added out of the trousers jackets to two soldiers )
  5. a little update. I've decided to build a "Japanese style box" as a frame for the diorama ( i will finish to sand it when the thing is over ). I'm also actually waiting for some grass to arrive i want to add. In the while i've also added some more mud under the hood and painted some mess on the submerged wing.
  6. the build is awesome, but the proportions of the turret look odd ( not your fault of course ) shouldn't it be narrower?
  7. i would go for japanese. Also in my twistedmind i would set it up in a diorama with a shinto prist blessing it
  8. i don't know i think i would go for yellow. I mean is a more bright color, this is supposed to be silly and fun. I think at a subliminal level it will reminds you more of wall-e too
  9. i have a feeling this is going to turn out quite good
  10. the project was on hold but is still alive by the way. I've worked on a sherman and after the experience i made on that model i came to the conclusion i want to completely redo the diorama base for this project. So the new idea is to cut in half ( more 1/3 2/3 ) the base, create two separate bases that placed side by side will give the idea of the whole scene but that can be also presented separately as a stand alone tiger base and a stand alone universal carrier base. I've cut the new base, tomorrow i will paint the wood and prepare it, than i will do on that the new diorama, the look will be similar and hopefully better.
  11. Another update. I've worked on the wooden base this time. Painted and laquered. That is actually something i should have done at the start not at the end but, you do errors you learn things. Added also a plaque too but that is temporary. i think this gives it a more classy look compared to the raw wood. now i just need to add figures, do some little fine tuning here and there but it's almost done.
  12. you can tell you've done a good job when you can watch the pictures and not immediately guess the right scale. I think is quite a nice tiger you've made there
  13. yes, mine was exactly the 2.0. Details and engineering of the kit are insane but it still lacks compared to the PG. the hands of the PG for example, each single phalanx is a separate piece and has its joint, like a real hand. On the MG each finger is a separate piece not each phalanx.
  14. also i think a tank that size and weight would sink in that kind of road and displace quite a lot of ground, that way it looks like it's floating over it. apart from that the rest is very well done and i also like the way the scene is composed
  15. that would actually be quite a clever idea. you can look at a website like this one ( it's the first i've found, no advertisement involved ) if you're really pondering that idea https://www.shapify.me/
  16. do you think the camo does his job now that you see it almost finished? i mean i'm the first to admit is not the most eye-candy camo you'll see around, but is different from the usual "all white washed out" you usually see for winter shermans i wanted to do something different and original
  17. tanks are like titties, you want them big and you want them dirty!
  18. added more mud and melting snow. I'm gonna let all set and than add some final details but we're almost there.
  19. another little update: i drilled a hole in the underside of the tank and put a screw trough it, so now the tank is officially stuck to the diorama. i've added decorations to the turret. these are some backpacks i've made using green stuff and a blanket over them to protect them from snow. i'm still undecided if adding or not two spare tracks on the sides of the turret as extra armor. apart from that i think the decorations are complete, i'm not planning to add anything else ( apart two figures ) i've started to add thick mud to the tracks. i've mixed some grass to the mud. this is also blending in the tank with the diorama. the mud work is not yet complete but should give an idea of the final result. so here you can see the ropes, the backpacks, the bucket ( you can't have a tank without a bucket! ) and on the right the canister is cleverly hanged at the ropes and is used to keep their tension. on the front i've added the german gas mask, and a cable reel. in the picutre one track has mud applied the other hasn't. and here's the thick mud applied. so, what's left to do: - add figures - finish thick mud on tracks - add some lighter mud splash on the sides and back. - add some little snow patches similar to the ones on the motorbike - add water puddle and water streaks of melting snow on the hull.
  20. you've definitely a good eye for details. i think i'll absolutely do as you suggest before applying mud.
  21. painted and added tracks. Added logs on the side. added tow cable. ( logs are tied to tow cable as seen in real pictures ). decorations on the front should be the one you see there, i'll add some rope to keep them togheter. I may eventually decide to add some single track links as extra armor in front of driver position. i still have to add figures, - mud - snow patches. - ropes - all the turret decorations including backpacks but this should start to give an idea of the final look ( pigments are done on the main hull, i have to add thick mud patches around the lower hull to complete the weathering there ).
  22. still working on the sherman by the way. Added some pigment layers, still work in progress. I've added a snow effect on the motorbike and sparkled it with dead leaves, the diorama is almost complete, i'll have to add some puddle and blend the tank mud when the tank is complete. here how it looks now. i'm definitely pleased with the way the diorma has turned out
  23. so little lesson on the world we live in: This is called art. Worth millions of dollars. this: is called hobby. Worth almost nothing. than you wonder why so many people are mad at this world.
  24. i feel it would even be a pity to paint it. it looks just good as it is.
