  1. No problem; actually I was pretty stubborn at the camo scheme as the instructions showed exactly the winter colors but i believed the whole time it was summer; so: My fault What boxing have you? that with the egyptian one, the dozer or the boxing with ERA regards Levin
  2. Update: Since the last update not much has happened 'cept that I finished up most off the inside parts and sub assemblies. While building the front landing gear i wondered where the eduard instructions want me to attach a horseshoe like part; like this: b29-8 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr like this: b29-9 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr or should I just leave it away, as it looks in this picture: http://www.b29-superfortress.com/images/nuclear-museum-albuquerque/b29-superfortress-albuquerque-front-landing-gear.jpg I apreciate some advice, actually to me it seems mostlikely to be left away So to end to two pics from the animal world: Ar rare porcupine-ish animal with somehow B-29 parts on its spikes: b29-11 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr (I know that joke was bad) and a little fellow I found under my table: b29-10 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr (I didn`t killed it, it was dead already) The next update will be when I paint the parts mostlikely in the next few days Regards Levin P.S. : I want to excuse for the pics as I man pretty bad at shooting photos and recognizing what is worth to be photographed or not; so I assume it is quite boring or? But it's my first WIP so I hope I can improve
  3. May I also suggest to use bigger patches of the original color as the effect was a bit to subtile on the beetle IMHORegards Levin
  4. Thanks It actually was pretty stressing to search for colorprofiles as i was somehow convinced that it was MERDC summer instead of winter until i asked for help here Then it went pretty quick with blu-tac and a small brush
  5. I'll follow with interestMay I ask what car you have in mind and how you made the rust effects on the beetle? Pigments? Paint? Completely different? Regards Levin
  6. May I suggest to look like burned out instead of only rusty?I found this article http://www.panzer-modell.de/tipps/vignettenbau_2/vb.htm in a german forum/magazine and it look pretty convincing to me. If you want I could translate the part about the car. Though he doesn't says much about painting the car more about the surroundings and the details like seats abd wheels but maybe the pics alone help already Regards Levin
  7. Ooops Well wondered already as the canopy was 1 xD Sorry for that Regards Levin
  8. In this german review - http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook/Airfix/Airfix_EE_Lightning_F2A/Airfix_EE_Lightning_F2A.html- it looks like there is an 6 on the sprue Hope I could help Regards Levin
  9. What adblocker do you use? I use no script and some sides it doesn't work though there allowed. Tried another browser? Hope I could help Levin
  10. To me the line in the middle appears to be darker than the roundel so I would say it is black; I might be wrong though Hope I could help Regards Levin
  11. That is gorgeous! Wish mine was even close; How behaved the decals for the walkways? Mine just fell apart (probably just me ) Best regards Levin
  12. Looks good sofar, but may i suggest to use different shades of rust on different panels It looks a bit monotonous IMHO Regards Levin
  13. Thanks, those links are great especially the 360 degree cockpits Thank you a lot Thanks James
  14. I am not an expert but may I suggest to form the brass over the kit canopy and than make the window panes out of klear. I don't know if would work but I could imagine it would be easier to build and that would be easier to look inside then Regards Levin
  15. I did but all the pictures that turned up were either way shot from the outside or from an angle were the sights itself covered its stand upRegards Levin
  16. Thanks That is as old as I am Thanks for your advice. I'll mind that Ah, Thanks BR ( ) Levin
  17. In my understanding the luchs has overlapping road wheels like a Tiger or Panther while the normal one had different, normal wheels (pics follow) but i could still be completly wrong http://ww2photo.se/tanks/d/pz2/luchs/02162.jpg Luchs http://www.achtungpanzer.com/images/pz2c.jpg Normal panzer 2 Also are dimensions different as The Lucy's is shorter but higher as the ausf c So it's your decision how much you want change Greetings Levin
  18. Thanks Antti I hadn`t seen this yet but I think you`re right As being a foreign english speaker I have to ask what BR meens (it is probably obvious but I am a bit blind on those things) greetings Levin Thanks Question from a Newbie: should I quote things in the future when I answer?
  19. IMHO Scratchaeronautics isn the most optimistic name or? But i still looks forward to see the kit though

    Academy B-29

I have just started building and a WIP so if anyone is interested, here is the link: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235006194-172-academy-b-29-enola-gay/
  21. Good evening, I`ve just started building on my academy B29 in 1/72. I want to build it as Enola Gay, the bomber which dropped the first atomic bomb ever used in a conflict, Little Boy, on Hiroshima, Japan, on the 6. August 1945. The bomb killed 20.000 to 90.000 people and three days later the second and last atomic bomb was used in a conflict, Fat Man. Asfar as I have build the kit was pretty good except many ejection marks on the inside and that there is no detail provided on instrument panel which are made with decals, which I don`t mind as I`ll build it with the Eduard etched stuff, also I will use the Eduard precut masks. So here are the sprues, etched stuff, decals, masks and instructions b29-1 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr On the far right you can see some bits I had already cut out to watch Here is the progress of today: b29-2 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr The assembled cockpit floor/base with some sub assemblies missing b29-3 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr The bulkheads, bombs, a seat and consoles. I have cut the fins on fat man to replace them with sheet as there position was wrong (while I don`t want to build the Bockscar, but I think of building a vignette where it is put in the bomb pit on tinian) b29-4 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr Comparsion of one pilotseat with Eduard seatbelts and one without; would you say that their positioning is right? b29-5 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr Most sub-assemblies of the cockpit put together with blu tack (well the german equivalent);(no worries the back instrument panel isn`t wrong attached; I just intend to put the photo film behind it after painting) b29-6 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr One last question: In the last picture you can see the bomb gunners position. In Eduard instructions it isn`clear, if the stool like thing in the front is supposed to be the seet for the bombardier (as setup in the picture) or the mount for the Norden bombsight. What would you say? I couldn`t find any clear reference pics aswell, so help would be apreciated. To the next update, Levin
  22. I`ll see the next time
  23. Thanks, yeah, at first: you`re right `bout the metallics, maybe I`lll do a darker drybrush on the "ropes (?)/steal ropes (?)" at second: sadly there seems to be an alternative to future/klear in germany but it seems to be nowhere aviable even near to me to the tracks: I heard of the upgrade/exchange but I think it is kind of a waste of such agood kit (M60) then IMHO and I build the M48 a very (not really) long time ago the old revell instructions (black and white) where always pretty vague on the "smaller bits I think; hope that changed with the new type ones
  24. Hi, this is my first time I publish the pictures of a finished model on this forum, so I would be happy to get some advice how to make the pictures properly as those are the first ones I ever made like that. So to start: The kit is the last re-release of the Revell kit of the M60a3. The fit of the kit was pretty good except the tracks and running gear which was pretty hard to assemble as the instructions are not clear IMHO at some parts. Aswell is are the painting scheme instructions a bit of a inconsistent as the the camouflage in one is neat and tidy painting in three different greys as the other is made out of four types of criss-crossed lines and dots which is a very hard to see clearly what to paint where. I built a M60a3 which took part in REFORGER`85 because I liked the the orange identification marks and I had this photo of it (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:M60A3_Panzer.jpg) and I like building vehicles I have references pictures of (ok; I just favour building them;I don`t exclusively do so). I haven`t weathered it yet and I also intend to build a little diorama/vignette for it. So, here are the pics (finally ) IMG_0187 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr IMG_0188 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr IMG_0189 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr IMG_0190 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr IMG_0195 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr Comparsion to its predecessor, a M48 made from the Italeri/esci kit ... IMG_0196 by nivelnnamkcurts, auf Flickr ... and an 1/72 esci/italeri figure. BTW: I think I messed up a bit with the decals IMHO
