  1. As we say in Civilisation.. Top Dead Brilliant..By the way.. Civilisation is Scotland, by the way to youse who are unwashed...
  2. Don't know if this helps re Prop dynamo shows what looks like dynamo attached to Stb Fuselage behind crew mounting position; I have seen another picture that shows Alcock standing in front of it https://recherche-collection-search.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/home/record?app=fonandcol&IdNumber=3194169
  3. Airfix A02044 has the Cod listed as: No. 1841 NAS KD658/115-X (Lt. Robert Hampton (Hammy) Gray) 1945 Victoria Cross - HMS Formidable (2009 Release)
  4. For spraying acrylics - I have a spray booth I that I spray into a 13 gallon kitchen trash bin; I put a wet cloth at the bottom; on the letter box exhaust i fit a gallon zip lock bag with the end cut open - rarely see much paint thru' it and no overspray issues; I also keep the booth filters clean, also when cleaning any airbrush I clean the pots first, back flush, all using warm water, empty into dedicated bucket out three times, then spray a half cup wide open thru', then some home brew cleaner and finally some warm water again all spraying through the spray booth filter unit (then clean the tip!!) FYI - some of my booth experience - i posted this on Scalemates about 2020 Two of the spray booths are designed & manufactured by Ningbo Hao Sheng, and sold customized by packaging, color, Instruction sheets. They also make Compressors and Airbrushes, selling B2B in the same way to reseller channels. There are several repeats on the Spray booths tab Just as a disclaimer - I am not associated with the company in any way but do own two of the older model (420). The units are the HS-E420DLCK (one fan, horizontal vent) and HS-E550BLK (two fan, vertical vent) models, there are some variants of these with / without lights & variable fan and light controls. Note that the numbers denote the booth width – 420mm and 550mm respectively – go to the website, haoshengnb.com, search HS-E550BLK, scroll down to see the comparative of the two models there. Note also there are various You Tube videos available online. My experience: I bought 2 of the HS-E420DLCK (with LED lights) online from resellers, with taxes & delivery, $83.90 from Amazon / Floureon, Mar 2017 & $72.48 from ebay / Jenna, Nov 2018. I am pleased with the booths, the 420mm / 16 ½” wide, the extractor fan pulls the overspray out very well, is rated at 4m³, noise is OK, rated at 47db LED lights are very bright, sound is rated at 47db. The exhaust attachment is horizontal in the 420 unit, which takes up space. As I spray almost all acrylics, the unit is vented into a bin which works very well. When spraying enamels or alclad I pick the unit up and spray them in the garage, venting the unit through the wall. Unit weight with vent hoses etc. is 3.95kg or less than 10lbs. Workspace is a little tight when painting larger models in one unit, but they are designed to be combined, hence buying the second unit to make the larger booth. Combining the two units is straightforward, (8mins). The unit is spacious but is a large footprint and I have used it only a few times. It is noisy when running the combined unit with the two fans on, but it does the job. I have been using it on 1/48 scale using alclad, and on some ships. I keep one booth assembled, which I use 95% of the time. The other is stored in its folded down state in the original packaging by the bench. Hope it is useful!
  5. https://www.harborfreight.com/airbrush-holder-69449.html This is $10.70 USD, it is surprisingly heavy and steady, has little suction feet which work well on a smooth surface; also as the feet are spaced well apart it is very stable unit It can hold four brushes, I only use the top two, which are rubber coated very handy as I have two different quick connect sizes with quick connects to Paasche and other size brushes this is a supplier manufactured stand that is sold B2B to middlemen who resell under all sorts of names so you can get these for online prices from $10 to $ 30 delivered, need to shop around Saw in a post reply that the cleaning pots come with holders; I use the cleaning pots freehand so I can direct the exhaust into the spray booth, so I got rid of the metal parts; As I spray almost exclusively acrylics, also tend to backflush with warm to start cleaning then some home brew cleaner then water again so now do it directly into the booth filter - seems to make it easier to wash out the filter in a washing machine!
  6. My mother in law gave me this model for Christmas about 20 years ago & is now threatening to turn me into something she describes as "un-natural" unless I build it before Christmas (2023) Any tips about painting the nylon engine parts? I would ask my mother -in-law to get her wand out to help but that could bring about the end of the world as we know it.....
  7. I see Pictures of Consolidated Catalinas in RAF Coastal Command mid 1944 that appear to have radars mounted in randomes over the cockpit - what are these? Trying to build RAF / Commonwealth VC aircraft and am trying to determine what radars Horrnell - PBY 5A 9754 - show the Yagi type along the sides and outboard of the engines, while Cruickshank - Cat IVA JV928 "Y" shows the above described randome type? I am trying to source 1/72 scale of these as aftermarket, no luck so far! Source https://weaponsandwarfare.com/raf-vc-aircraft-and-crews-pilots/
  8. Building 1/72 control tower based on US 8th Airforce Museum in Ohio (actual recreated RAF conrtol tower) - I am having issues determining how to create the pebble dash effect on the sheet styrene; Any thoughts? sand? Golden pumice gel?
