  1. Super...thanks Troy
  2. No folks, sorry but the 36143 I'm looking for matches for is NOT an FS number....its the Revell number....36143....next time I'll try and remember to correct the font sizes. Thanks James
  3. Hasn't worked for me since I first became aware of this thread well over a decade ago. Admittedly in my job I have most executables disabled, but I'm currently struggling because the PDF doesn't seem to know what 36143 is...I was hoping a simple CTRL F on the pdf file would find it in the Revell list. Honestly I can't remember the number of paint matches I've looked for here over the last 10+ years, but I feel I'm missing out by being restricted to a PDF that I don't know is being updated or cared for. The executables on the other hand should take lower priority I hope, compared to the back ground data in the PDF. Sorry, didn't want to criticize, but as this thread never seems to die, nor the website, thought I should add my comment in case it is actually helpful. Thanks James
  4. Ordered mine as soon as I received the March email today. Thanks Colin James
  5. I didn't realise this was yours or I'd have tried to find you. In any case, I'm glad to say I got the opportunity to gawp at this for about 15 minutes solid in the competition room, and found it hard to take myself away. A great model. Just a shame that photos can never really do it justice. The gold was definitely well deserved. James
  6. They look great - off to search ebay James
  7. Likewise, please let me know when these are ready thanks James
  8. Thank you Jabba, and also for the clarifications over PM. Natter, I was wrong, apologies. James

    Airfix 2012

I like the Mirage III family idea. An AV-8B+ adapted from the new Harrier GR.9 release would be nice too, as would a Merlin scaled down to 1/72. On the subject of which, scaling the Lynx down to 1/72, possibly with options for the AH.9, would be a welcome replacement for the AH.1 mould. James
  10. Just got a response back from the helpful people at Aviation Workshop. They have confirmed that by May '82 the upper wing roundels had changed to the smaller type 'D' roundels on the outer panels. Meanwhile, thanks to Natter for the response here, and to the rest of you who looked in to see if you could help. James
  11. Maritime ones were, but the R.1's didn't start to follow til Summer '82. I think the last of the three was actually repianted in about '83, possibly even '84, as they went through a major refit at the same time. James
  12. Hi all, does anyone have this decal set: M:AF-158: BAe Systems (Hawker Siddeley) Nimrod, Part 1 RAF http://www.theaviationworkshop.co.uk/index...;products_id=92 If so, please can you do me a favour and have a look at the instructions. What I need to know is for somewhere in the date range 1981-May 1982 (later the better, but I think the sheet only includes a 1981 one, not 1982), what do they say about the Type 'D' upper wing roundels? Were they: a - the big ones, almost centrally on the wing, or b - the smaller ones on the outer panel like the ones on the underside I only need this answer for a 51 Sqn Nimrod R.1 - other squadrons or variants won't help. thanks James
  13. Colin, Has this been released yet? If not, is there any update on progress/outlook? James
  14. That's the one - thank you Derek. I've sent a PM. James
  15. Hi all If anyone has a complete series of Aircraft Modelworld, or even just most of them, please can I ask a favour. In the readers letters section ("Air Mail" iirc), sometime after vol. 1 number 8 (Oct '84), and probably not later than vol. 4 number 4 (June '87), there are either 1 or 2 photos of an X-27 Lancer in 1/72, converted from the Matchbox F-104/TF-104 kits. One is in the air superiority scheme of the time, the other is a 2 seater in strike configuration. Someone on another site has kindly checked all his copies, but didn't have the following: April to July 1984, March 1987, June 1987, November 1987, February 1988, December 1988, May/June 1989, and September 1989, so it may be in one of those. What I'd like is to know which issue this was in, and if possible to obtain a scan. If you are able to help, I'd suggest starting with the most recent issue in the timeframe and working backwards. However, If I got the timeframe totally wrong - apologies, it may be in a more recent copy, but not as I recall. It also occurs to me that many people don't know what an X-27/CL-1200 looks like, so some quick describing might be in order too. Basically, imagine an F-104 with a high mounted wing, with great big leading edge extensions, and the T-Tail replaced by a more conventional shape. One kit was completed in light greys, 1980's F-15 style, the other in the Europe 1 lizard scheme (wraparound green, green and grey), 1980's F-15E/A-10 style, (though the photo(s) were published in black and white.) Thanks James
