John Aero Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I thought I had started a thread for thsi a while back. Obviously not. So, here is the box shot, and the latest update. Thanks for looking. Deacon If you are doing a Mk.14, don't use the "14" nose parts. Use the parts for the Mk.12. It's a myth that the "14" was longer than the "12". John
Deacon Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Thanks for the 'heads-up' John, but I have checked the kit parts and the same nose parts are used for the Mk12 and the Mk14. Cheers Deacon
smuts Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Nice, Ive got the xtrakit boxing + the airwaves etch looks a nice kit too, fit looks good is it ?. Andy.
Deacon Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 Thanks guys. Andy, the kit fit is fine, I just added some tippex to reduce the depth of the join. I really like making Matchbox kits these days, possibly because of the good memories. I know they don't stand up well against many model companies these days, but I still really enjoy making them. Cheers Deacon

theplasticsurgeon Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Here are 3 Meteor NF14s that I built for a GB in 2007 The nose length issue crops up in the thread. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1331 Advice is to throw away parts 7 and 13, and use 9 and 12 for the nose instead. The NF14 had a shorter steeper windscreen than the NF12 - giving the false impression of a longer nose. And another couple I've built:
Deacon Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 I have to say they look the business mate. I tell you now, mine won't look as good as these. Why 3 identical NF.14's, just to be nosey? Cheers Deacon
theplasticsurgeon Posted June 30, 2010 Posted June 30, 2010 Why 3 identical NF.14's, just to be nosey? Each is WS774 http://www.maltaaviationmuseum.com/meteornf14.asp If you read the thread, I built a previous model of WS774 for John Holder (I worked with his son - hence visited the restoration at Quedgley). John asked me to make another each for Sandy, Sid and Alex.
