Lotus 49 bottom!

found a pic of the bottom the the 1967 Lotus 49 gearbox.

It's from the Belgian GP, so it's not the later strengthened ZF box, and it shows the ribbing, and the alternator bracket (missing on the Tamiya and Ebbro kits).

Those are indeed good photos.

The first is taken at Belgium in 1967.

Motorsport images has a heap of pics taken as the mechanics remove the ZF box at the first outing at Zandvoort.

Alternator or starter motor, I've always thought this was the starter motor alongside the gear box, much easier to see in these early engines.
